do they band these chicks here. maybe trap adults and band them also. then we would know

Yes, they band the chicks.

I don't know how they would catch the adults. It's a very long ledge (length of building with about 5 or 6 bays all the way down. They way we see this area (open space, ledge, huge column).. repeat that 5 times with no walls, the length of the building.

Quite honestly, they have more of a hands off approach at these nests. That's why Glenn bands at the nest, not removing the young, for a get in/get out approach. If something was to happen to one of the eyasses or adults, I don't know what would be done. SF is easier to access nest, than SJ... and we saw what happened that one year with the chick who passed a few days after birth and with Blue (passed after banding).

yeah I know they would not do it. Just would make it easier eh!!!

that feather must be annoying. Either there from prey, or mixing it up out there

I think the falcon season is getting in full swing.

But I do not like these mysteries. but if you remember , this is sort of what was happening when eggs were being laid. and we were wondering if there wre some problems.

5:00pm - no updates further updates from ground watch. Unfortunately, there may only be 1 person on the ground trying to sort this out & the view from there isn't that great...

Look at 77 Beale Street on Google Maps & you are just surrounded by skyscrapers.... They would have a limited view to say the least. I think when they do fledge watch, they do it at Mission and Main?

I'm so sorry... feel like I should know these birds better... :sum8:

I am going to have to take a break in a few days to start getting prepared for my season.

Genesse has already e-mailed me to monitor for them I will have to post part of their message because they have a new cam ready to go.

mwplay: when birds are not banded it is so hard. and these tow are so close in markings.

this is why they should make better use of their cam. ( I should not talk becasue I do nto even knwo if we will have cam this year)

We have all been trying but it was hard even when she was laying eggs.
