Thanks SGB. I was going to post the same picture. They've been there since there was enough light to see scrape.

They've zoomed a little..

Don't see the white feather from this angle. Eyes look a little different, but can't be sure who this is yet.

I think the feather is still there. When he turns his head just a little, you can make out some white above his eye.

Getting off scrape,

Now would be the time for them to pan....

HURRY...

Bad words are going through my mind... They are just not fast enough. When that bird started getting up, they should have moved the darn cam!

Based on a really quick look, I think it's Dan still. When he looked our way, there was a very slight feather out of place above his eye. Not the big feather we saw yesterday.

I will say at first I thought maybe this could be Lil again, but I'm just not sure.

Glenn made a quick post on the Yahoo forum last night that he doesn't believe there has been a turnover at this nest..

Here's a portion of his post:

As I have said previously, I think we are entering a time that few people living can remember--a time when peregrines were very abundant. Except for those in England and elsewhere in Europe, we really have no good record of how an unmolested/un-poisoned peregrine population behaves. Territorial intruders will likely become more of a norm than unusual event. However with that said, I do not think anyone believes that we have had turnover at this nest during this season. It is possible there are other falcons around but the birds now tending the nest are the same ones responsible for the eggs (if that is a question in anyone's mind.) --glenn@scpbrg

Interesting post by Glenn...I sure hope he's right...it still doesn't explain the time the eggs are uncovered or the lack of observing a switch on the nest..

As I speak...somebody just came in..

Here's who just left..

Without seeing both in the cam at the same time, we have no reference of size, etc...

Now, this looks like Dan to me...

The bird ealier reminds me of Lil.

Could it be that there's a persistant female intruder and she's working on protecting the territory?

Just lost here. Of course we have no good straight on face shots to compare the bird who was on at sunrise and who just got on.

GOOD SHOT!!!! Perfect. Now we just need them to zoom.. That little feather out of place will be very helpful!

You know, either Lil is missing, Lil is keeping the territory clear and only incubates at dark and we miss the switch because of the dark Or...Or.....

So, if they are sure this is Dan, then Lil is missing, or injured and cannot come to scrape...

Entirely possible...but, what of the other falcon they saw last night..even if it is one that replaced Lil..why hasn't she come to the box where Dan is...We've seen other intruders do this...This is just so confusing..

...and don't forget..the ground crew reported echupping, not alarm calling, so clearly, Dan is acquainted with this other falcon..unless he is just so happy go lucky he welcomes any visitor...
