Everyone on SF forum is calling out what you guys have seen:
white shoulder spots
long tail
long skinny legs
long wings - this really stood out to me.
Good catch on the white tail feather tips Bev.
I guess her staying on ledge and some interest in scrape/eggs is a good thing... right?
Maybe she will come around quick... FINGERS CROSSED
She'd have to come around really fast. When Louie met Dori - those eggs were never incubated. These have been for 2 weeks or more which means the embryo is quite developed . I've been looking at Froona's development chart and these guys are already formed and on their way. I don't think you can stop and freeze the process mid way.
Here is link if you want to see what's going on inside the egg. Scroll down to start from early on. Not trying to depress anyone but just to give you an idea of where in the process the eggs are.
http://falcoperegrinus-froona.blogspot.ca/search/label/embryonic%20developmentI don't think so either. If it was Dan who was lost, I'd have more hope because the female can do the majority of incubation as long as being fed. That's why I thought earlier eggs were toast.
But, I'm trying to be a little positive... as it's been pointed out to me recently I tend to look at the negative... I guess I didn't want to be heartsick when this turned out like the other nests we've seen. Most of the time in those instances, it was early on (during egg laying, or right after it was completed) which would allow time for new partner to get in synch.
PS> thinking of changing my name to Debbie Downer.
ETAII: seeing that development chart is amazing. These guys are pretty far along now.
