I'm so glad that Spark seems to take a proper interest in the eggs. That certainly bodes well for a better outcome than the last 2 years (knock on wood). Just hoping that Durand profited from her learning year and lays all the eggs in one place this year!

SGB, great videos and screen shots. These two are so cute together!

Both there a few minutes ago. The one on the middle (assume Spark) of the ledge had pretty prey.

Spark is very cute with the egg & I don't think Durand is going to have trouble getting him to help with the eggs/chicks. If anything, she might have to kick him out of the box so she can spend some time in there! :girlluv:

Thanks so much for all the great coverage, videos & captures!

There is a falcon facing away from the nestbox camera incubating the egg. The egg seems to have been moved significantly to the left. They would not have this shifting egg problem if they had prepared a sufficient scrape!

Donna has also posted a new blog update regarding incubation.

What's funny is that we know Durand doesn't do scrapes..but, I had high hopes for Spark...what's that about...LOL

Hopefully, we'll see egg #2 today...

Nest exchange. Oh good grief, he's already off the egg and out on the deck looking around. Also, if there was prey, I didn't see it.

Durand arrived at the nestbox just now. She scraped here and there before settling on the egg. She is currently nibbling on some pebbles, perhaps she needs some roughage. She appears to be pretty busy moving pebbles to make a small depression in front of the lip of the box. That's encouraging, don't want them to roll off!

She should be due for another egg any time now!

Poor thing, I watched her digging pebbles from the edge too. She really has some learning to do still but she is super cute!
