he says 7:42pm but she had not started hard pushing then.did he make a mistake perhaps, when typing

You watch we will gte up tomorrow and there will be no egg LOL

I hope this i sit as there will be too many to cover, and they will not know which are which. and unless biologist has a candler , they will not be able to tell which are which . too risky to take them now

this is great eh!!!

I think he means 7 minutes and 42 seconds in the video.

If she lays more, I don't know what will happen. I think Dan is a good sized tiercel and Cher seems big too. But, she's really inconsistent still with her incubating. Sometimes she leaves an egg out. Didn't Mariah and Kaver have 6 eggs one year? I just don't know what to expect here.

I think Cher is doing a good job considering. when she realizes it is out she puts it back in.

Funny how the 3 of us were there at same time tonight. And then the lights go out :gaaaaah: :gaaaaah: :gaaaaah:

have a good night

She had them in good formation this morning. I'm pretty sure it was her on duty at first light. She jumped up onto ledge for a few minutes, looked like she was calling out, then took off. They panned back to scrape and Cher returned a few minutes later. She got on the eggs pretty easy.

I think she's looking for breakfast!

When Dan comes in, we will have to see how he handles 5.

Here's a video of the 5 egg reveal and someone on ledge Jim posted to Yahoo group.

I thought it was Cher on ledge and thought it was Cher who returned for duty and is currently incubating (7:10AM).

But now, I'm doubting myself. Sometimes I just can't tell the difference between the two now. Maybe it was Dan on ledge, who flew off to mate when Cher, then returned to duty. Maybe I'll just have to wait for nest exchange to confirm.

mwplay, I'm with you...why is it so hard to tell them apart? It all depends on which direction they are sitting (at least for me)...Is Dan a large male...is Cher a small female? usually the size difference alone is enough to figure it out...but, not here...at least not for me...

Dan appears broader/heavier in the chest area when he is incubating and Cher appears darker...but, then again..all that changes depending on the cam zoom and the time of day... :girlcrazy:

Here's a video of the 6:50am return to duty. Whoever it is, it's the same bird I posted a picture of, but I agree SGB, it's getting harder & harder to tell the difference. I agree with all the issues you listed (direction/time/zoom).

Bev had a good list of Cher - white tips on tail, more white above cere, pointed beak. The beak length has been a good indicator for me, but only when in profile. One other thing I notice is Cher's wing length, reminds me of the #7 when I look at her in profile. Her wings are a little sharper if that makes sense.

Double :girlcrazy:

Whoever was on eggs just left 8:22AM.

(I think it was Cher? ? ?)

Now let us see who comes back.

Same bird - Cher comes back on duty. 8:27

Now, I don't want to panic, but I don't think I've seen Dan this morning. I would think that when she goes off, he would come on duty.

Well you wouldn't actually have to remove the eggs technically SGB, just roll the old ones out here and there on the ledge somewhere where they can't be gathered together.

Maybe Dan is just having a hard time hunting.

0848 - Cher off eggs. She just got up and flew off.

Now, I think Dan is coming on duty as it's harder for him to cover and I don't see any whit tips on the tail (have to say, at this distance, it's hard to confirm). 8:49AM

Also noted, he's holding his tail higher, I think it's because of the increase in eggs?

I'll try to get a better picture of Cher straight on when she comes back on duty. The cam was a little zoomed when I took her picture this morning. If it stays at this distance, and I can get the front view, it will be a good comparison when at a distance.

ETA: I can't get my screen size to match on the side view pictures. I've tried 4 different times now!!
