Looks like Orange is pretty zonked out in the corner right now. Wish she'd get some company.

She is near the lower right corner this moning and crying out. Can see her really well. I guess she is still 2 days behind the rest and will catch up soon.

Edit: Now I don't see her at all.

Blue is in the box right now. And Orange in bottom right corner.

I think White has been back and forth in the box a couple times. Was flapping like crazy a bit ago, creating a feather blizzard. Orange is now more toward the middle of the screen in the back of the box.

White was there earlier as Jane noted. I caught him coming in, keeping Orange company, and leaving . . .

And Red Girl was there just a few minutes ago . . .

Great pictures, SGB! It looks like Red Girl is back, feeding a couple of chicks in the nest box.

Glad you got those great pictures, ladies. Saw Orange snatch that piece of prey off the ledge. Red Girl appeared with even more prey. Eventually she fed everyone in the upper left corner of the box. Am confirming that I saw all four chicks in the box, but I think White may have hopped back up on the ledge a bit ago.

It is nice to see more chicks in the nest box lately. I think they're starting to use it for flight training.

P.S. Thanks, Greg, for your wonderful report yesterday. That new male seems to be as prolific a hunter as CJ was, given all the prey remains you've been finding and identifying. And it was especially interesting to find out the reason why you'd been finding dead - but intact - birds in the nest area. I hadn't even thought that they might be the result of incomplete aerial prey transfers between the adults.

Jane - I just came to post the same news about all four in the nest box. You're right about the one chick hardly having any fluff left.

YES, I THINK GREG WAS DEAD ON AS TO WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT WHOLE PREY. I FOUND A WHOLE INDIGO BUNTING IN THE BACK OF OUR BLDG, ONLY PROBLEM WAS, IT WAS RUN OVER BEFORE I WAS TOLD IT WAS OUT THERE. JANE AND I SAW AN AERIAL EXCHANGE WITH LIL DAD AND NIECEY, I GUESS THEY PRACTICE FOR WHEN THEY HAVE TO DO IT FOR THE JUVIES. ONE TIME WE ACTUALLY FOUND A WHITE PIGEON THAT LIL DAD HAD HIT, BUT IT FELL TO THE GROUND AND HE DIDN'T COME DOWN FOR IT. I'M GLAD PLACES MAKE USE OF THE WHOLE BIRDS :-)

The new male just jumped into the nest box twice in the last couple of minutes to check on the chicks. Unfortunately, the only picture I could get of him is this one where he's a blur.

This kid sounds like an adult already! I had no idea it was the kid calling until I saw the video.

Here's a video of Red Girl and one of the kids. She looks like she's trying to yack up a hairball for a while. She flies out but she flies back in.

These videos are crappy if you make them full screen. I'm trying to remember how I did it last year without the file size being huge.

Thanks for the great videos, Kim. Glad you got to go down to the garage roof today. One of the chicks in Harrisburg makes alarm calls, also. Have had the cam on a little while, and saw that Orange had some company in the box. If White is the one that's really feathered out, then it was White. A feather blizzard was going on in the box a couple times, too.

I'm really surprised that Orange is still having such a hard time getting up on the ledge. Of course as I type this she was finally able to get up there!

Here's a video from earlier where Yellow is footing Orange in the beginning. I'm guessing he was just playing but she wasn't very happy about it!

Liked the video clip, Kim. Was that this afternoon? Don't see anybody in the box right now, so I guess Orange is up on the ledge. Rain may be headed to Wilmington, as it's showering in Harrisburg. Rained out of yard work. :-(

Jane, yes, that was this afternoon! I can barely see someone up in the right-hand corner of the box but I have no idea which one it is.
