Congratulations on the banding! Wow - Three girls (including a Red Girl) and one boy! Did Niecey go out of her mind? And have she and the chicks recovered yet?

Reenie - When you get a chance, can you post the band numbers of White Girl and Red Girl? Thanks.

Niecey came in a bit ago with some small prey. Some chicks were fed, but not all. And none got much. Niecey does seem to be calmed down some, though.

I enjoyed the banding live and the talk afterwards. I see that none of the birds want to go pass the window. And parents looking at it off and on.

I almost gotout there too late to view the biologists out on the ledge, but Lil Dad and Niecey put on a good show and the photo gods were very good to me today

I am just checking in after a long day. Wow, looks like a successful banding;so sorry as always to see parents so upset. Thanks to all for pictures and accounts of the day, and for letting us know, Jane, that Yellow Legs is now White Girl.

Great photos, George. Glad you were able to get some good ones. Three sacked out on the ledge now, and one standing nearby. Might be Red Girl. Niecey on the stick. Actually I think that's Lil Dad on the stick. And now gone.

Oh my word , Lil' Dad delivered prey and one of the chicks grabbed it and went behind the scrape with Nicey right behind it.

I saw that, too. Two chicks are working on it behind the shield. Niecey went to the end of the ledge, and Lil Dad landed on the point. Now Niecey is on the stick with her wings all stuck out.

Evidently, she's decided to let her work on it for a while.

Yes Reenie she went down and had a word with Lil' Dad it looked like.

lol, "burst rate" can be a very effective tool when shooting action. hence why,in the days of 35mm film, sporting events and press conference reporters used what was called a motor drive. some shooting as many as 15 frames per second. At least with these dang newfangled digitals we dont have to pay to soup the film and make prints. (been there, done that) I think my nikon d300s has a burst rate, with its battery grip, of 7.5 fps which is only 50% more than my good ole canon A-1's 5 fps.

you have me outshot but i got there later than i had hoped. I only captured about 220 images but i too will be in "post production" ...from here to eternity i think

I watched the whole thing. I can't believe they don't have bugs with the ledge the way it is. Thanks so much for all the coverage today. George, your pictures are great.
