Of Course..... Mystic did something right after I left......prior to that she was on the platform and on the box roof sitting there. Maurice was MIA...(Not at all unusual)...


Since the falcons were not moving.... I practiced capturing that which was moving:







Went to leave and was locked in the garage AGAIN!!!
Can someone tell me WHY a *&#@!!! parking garage has to be soooooo complicated??????

The posted pics are not full size..I snipped part of the ones I took... that I magnified...I still need to learn alot about this new camera....I know I love the sequence shots it takes on sports setting...5 pics per second...so when the boys take off...it is caught like video....

Maurice was found today downed at the base of the Canton Club per C&C...just read it and was up there today and nothing was said or anything.... till i read it on their facebook page.....

I did notice Mystic seeming nervous this morning while feeding that big pigeon...
I doubt it was another male...She was calm and sleepy while I was up there this afternoon...A new male would be tearing up the sky around there...
But if she saw Maurice get injured she would be on edge...

When pigeons are being pursued...they go down toward the ground low then rocket back up...all it takes is a wing collision with a electric wire or antennae from a car and thats it...

We saw Mystic and Mo in a tandem hunt last weekend go down over the traffic after a pigeon...It was horrifying to me to think that any of those cars can have their antennae up and what happens if the pursuing falcon doesn't see it!

Just speculation, because we may never know what caused it...but there are likely scenarios and there is nothing wrong with getting out the worry while waiting... by wondering...

Thank you for calling me Matrix. I know that Mystic can handle the situation because she is a strong women and did it last year pretty much by herself. As you know, I am especially fond of Maurice, having selected his name last year when he showed up on the scene. Unofficial but still, it's what we call him. I was a sub-adult last year as was he. Hopefully we both acquired some knowledge and he will heal with time. I am so saddened and disappointed by these developments. We all know, anything can, and does happen in the Peregrine world. I will be hoping for the best for him. I'm sure whatever it was his intentions were good and he was defending his family or providing for them.

Mystic is searching for Maurice...Going building to building...Once she figures out he is not around she will go into hunt mode...
She made one half hearted attempt at hunting...The rest of the time I was there, she searched and scanned from various vantage points.
I could hear the boys whining at times...
No other peregrine's around, so intruder is ruled out.

Blood loss yesterday.
Swollen wound on his wing, but today he was fed and medicated...
Swelling needs to go down before they can determine what is wrong.
Tuesday they will try to asses him.
He is fiesty and ready to attack them, so that is a good sign!
