Tonight looks like where we began once the chicks could regulate their temp and Mystic perched on the nest box.It rained and some bad weather around so she was with her sons.

Her crop looks empty.



Hopefully tomorrow will be easier and better hunting.

First thing first, no one left the ledge today and we we grateful because it was as windy as it's ever been up there. We do have a running flapper and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the first to leave. Thanks for posting pics from the box we were following on the phone as we watched the ledge.
The extreme wind gave Mystic wings that I have yet to see in two years. She was flying and hovering effortlessly on short flights, hunting and stooping and engaging turkey vultures and what we thought was an eagle. We thought that maybe she's showing the boys, this is how it's done. Met a couple of new followers that came to observe and take pictures. Good to meet you two. You saw her at her best. While Matrix is going through his full memory card, here's a few till he can post what we saw.

THANK YOU SGB for posting those cam pics! We saw all that from the garage...and we were trying to figure out why she went into the box....Now we know...as one of the boy's had us do a ground search...We only saw three for several hours....apparently he was around the terrace on the east side of the building...as after we searched a 5 block radius...and got back up...Mystic had caught prey and lo and behold...number 4 comes flaprunning from the east to get his share....I think exercise never hurts and we found many hiding places for baby grounded falcons...for future reference!! LOL

Two successful hunts today and what we thought a third..was...well, leftovers. She snuck over in a flash where she stashed the earlier leftovers (we totally missed where that "prey" came from..but the camera didn't).....and she fed the four...Now what is funny is as she left with the bones I was clicking away with the camera and...I ended up catching what she did with "them".....Cheryl! You better check your car! LOL.

One of the boy's is going to the left ledge, down on the corner...This is where one blew off last year...and he pushed his luck flapping down there...Another darker boy...Is flapping very strongly and seems to have the attention of the other three...

Cheryl got to see Mystic lofting...Hovering and Kiteing...Truely Grace and Effortless that can take one's breath away.

Very Glad to meet and share stories with our new friends Dick and Sandi...(who have GREAT cameras!) ((Thank You for the experemental lens test!!)) and happy to get you two to the "Right" Garage...

Hope the boy's stay put till after Maurice is released...!!!!!
