I think there is a hatch at King plant! Looks like a small piece of egg shell on female's beak.

When she was turning I thought there was a baby, almost under her tail. Possible second hatch in progress right now ? ? ?

I am so glad she moved the eggs to a new bowl, much better for us :teehee:

thanks so much for keeping an eye on King, DEF...I just looked at the archives (of course, you never really know if they are updated, since the time stamp is cut of)..there was a pic showing all eggs, but who knows if it was even from saturday..

Thanks for the vids, KF...and for the pics of blackdog, matrix. What a difference a little treatment can do. I am still thankful they intervened with this baby, but its still sad that they didn't do it sooner..the other two could have been saved as well.

Gosh, never thought of checking the archive :girlcrazy: Glad someone did :teehee:
I still believe it was already there yesterday, when I posted that she seemed to have a small piece of eggshell on her beak.
Wonder if any other egg(s) will hatch, I have my doubts to be honest.

Well, I checked all the archives yesterday...there was one pic of all eggs (in the 2 pm slot)...but, then again, the time stamp is cut off and you don't really know if you're looking at a 2 pm Saturday? or 2 pm from another day..

There was an entire series of pics where it appeared an egg had been "kicked out"...but, it could have been the larger part of the shell...

Male has been in twice (again)...all the way up...trying to get her up, but she won't budge...guess we're gonna have to hope we can catch a feed.

Awwwwww, that was so sweet :girlluv:

I see four eggs, maybe some broke and that is why she moved the others to a new scrape ? ? ?

King~yet another XCEL nest I can't bear to watch..

Something is wrong with the baby in the front. I can tell it is alive and I'm either seeing spasms, crying, just breathing..not sure what..but it hasn't moved its head, only its little wings...and Belinda is ignoring it..sick? injured? I don't know what..

Image

It moved its wing and lower body

 KING:

Maybe she hurt it's neck when she picked it up...In the stills/archives it appears deceased...same spot all afternoon and adults now ignoring it...there are still four eggs visible...Maybe this female has something the matter with her..

Feeds in the stills/archives don't seem successful with the remaning one...It responds but seems to fall back without eating...

I don't know what the scraping and moving about of the eggs/baby is all about...Possibly just stress over something...like Durand did when Zoom fell behind the box...

I agree...Something not right...to bad too...the male seems so interested!!

I do not know what has happened at King...I am seeing NO chicks...the view is really hampered by the sun..but there are quite a few pics in the dailies, showing a parent "sunning"!!!

the way that mom is currently sitting in the box (its really dark in there) leads me to believe she is only on eggs...

King..

Mom has just gotten up...there are NO chicks. :girlsad3: ..I was afraid that one of them died yesterday...but, the other one looked active the times I watched...Unless somebody has gone up there and gotten the one that was still alive..

It is so sad to see they lost both those little ones. I think age is affecting lots of nests this year for some reason, but this one has been crazy from the beginning. Thanks sgb for watching to see.
