Great Pictures, Peter, Jean and Janice. Love them all! Carol and I went down for a couple of hours after work today. There was nobody there when we arrived. However, one of the adults, probably Mama, and Miss Green showed up around 5:40. They chased each other for a couple of rounds between College Plaza, the CSB and the Maz. Green's screecher continues to work very well. When we left shortly after 7: Green was perched on a balcony high on the east end of the north face of Windsor apartments and Radisson was on the Maz.

I think PB has duplicated these shots several times, so I hope you can get out

July25 -the day black fledged. I was so upset at people in College plaza as they spooked him into flying and they chased radisson off ledge when she came in to feed. they took picutres with flash and I had gone over there and asked nicely if they would close blinds :gaaaaah: :gaaaaah:
This is the day I did first rescue of Black . He came to ground trying to leve College plaza dn hit amz and then a long story. I shared it earlier.

this just is not working right so I will post picutres. I did label but who knows :girlcrazy: :girlcrazy:

All doing extremely well at the Pembina River – all, including your U of A and Weber birds are accounted for and flying like champions. A photo of the mob enclosed.

Pembina

Peter and I were down at Pembina yesterday morning early. It was very emotional for me. To see them flying and to see them on cliffs and in trees. We saw at one time, 5 flying and playing tag, and they would disappear and then falcons would appear again an d dip behind the tree line and then again and again and again. so whether it was same five or others, we have no way of knowing. sometimes there would be three or two. but while they were flying we had our eyes on 2 in the tree, and a few on the cliffs.

We saw ones on cliff first and then 2 in the tree and then we heard them . A few flew up the river to cliffs and then we saw them in the sky. It was magic.
I wish you al could have been there . this is how it should be.

I am working on a few photos but they are from a distance . will try and get done soon. I am so far behind with my picutres

I am sure it was bev!

I know what you mean, that is the most natural setting and therefore the only "right" place for them.

The photo Gord provided of all those juvies in a tree is just spectacular. I love how they take care of them in that area.

august 22 Weber and U of A

U of A first

I have neglected to report on this site as I have been waiting till Gord gets back back from Kananaskis ( down by banff)Sat.
But Green girl was found and rescued by fire department last Friday evening. Peter and I looked for her till dark last Friday. I felt in my heart something was wrong as the 3 have been like glue and when I got home I had an e-mail from a falcon friend.
She said to go on a certain site , which she directed me to. To make a long story short, Green was found by high level bridge, which is not that far from university. I made a few calls and made sure Gord knew where she was. She appears to have no skeletal injuries and the rest , I will wait til Gord gets home. Hopefully she is doing well. It is a puzzle for us and Gord
Suffice to say, that Gord is in contact from afar . but he is having someone check in on her. It is all I can do from keeping phoning , but I cannot interfere. Gord will take charge when he gets back.
Unfortunately , with him not here, if she was releasable, she has to wait til he gets back , so ...We have a lot of questions and some things do not jive. We know anything can happen, but...

Poor Radisson and Chase . We feel they thought she was right behind them coming back as they had food ready for her. My heart is a bit heavy these days. Chase has been great this year.

Jean sent me 2 photos of a youngster who has been around uni last few days. I could not quite read bands so hopefully it comes back so we can see who it is

Weber

Young girl continues to do well, and is stooping like crazy. The Bin 104 had their annual fundrasier last night and Steve, from the hack site, gave a talk and brought a young falcon. The talk was great and we learned a lot and he had a lot of pictures. the young falcon he had was a captive bred juvenile female , that was flying with rest of the crew. The breeders gave them 5 to fly and try an get back. It was to give them some flying in the wild. I f Steve could not capture them all back that was O.k. I think he has been successful at trapping them back.
there are 31 that wre released there this year and they have so far 30 still in site and doing well. Steve says, remember, the 1 could just be where they di d not see., but regardless, how great. We know they will not all make it in the first year, but how exciting.
Wish you could have all been there for the talk. You would have really seen the success of this hack site.
If it appears one is nesting next year, they will find a new hack site.

I know I am far behind with photos but hey are coming . have to wait for Peter to download so I can fix up and put into Pb and then here.

So stay tuned :girlcrazy: :girlcrazy: :girlcrazy:
