The dog is Larry O's and his name is Harold (he came with that name). He's an older rescue dog that Larry got, I think, from somewhere in Arizona. Very shy-even with Larry, who's had him for about a year or so. Larry is very good and patient with him-takes him on all his Falcon watches.

Watchers "may" have found the juvies!

We will have to wait for MAK's report this afternoon, but she found 2 talon tagging this morning! They are at a plant about 2 miles NW of the TSB!

I love it when the kids stick around. We still have our BIG girl making appearances at the ledge & she fledged the second week of June. Well, heck when your home has everything you could want...

There's been no post-season Beauty/DC bonding at the NB yet and from Mak's tweets this AM, maybe there won't be. He's at it again!

(MAK): DC flew in and swooped on B 2x then went to SE end of HSBC with his back to me. B finished eating

Looks like our juvies are still around from yesterday's reports:

Falcons swoop on each other all the time - it's not always meant as aggression. I see it here when one or the other wants to share food and the other doesn't or when the female/male wants the other to follow or to do something. Sometimes it's play fighting.

Also O'connor and Jack aren't rebonding yet either - they don't until October or November sometimes. The hormones for that kick in when migration starts - same hormone that sends some on migration causes the ones who stay to rebond. Tracy explained it all to me - so behaviour is normal.

And yes I know some birds do ..but like humans, not all other species are the same either. Cause and effect shapes behaviour as well.

The fact that they've been seen hunting together, perching together and chupping to each other I think is more important.

Does that mean next year they'll be different? We'll have to wait and see...but lets not put the cart before the horse and just be grateful we've got another 3 great, strong offspring this year to celebrate.

DC and Pigott have been heard by watchers on a few occasions in the past few weeks having long bonding/echupping sessions in their cubby at Brighton. Just sayin.....

One of our Rfalconcam members is at the Montezuma Wetlands Complex doing the annual Muckrace. She tweeted this AM:
(Lisa McK): Was just told by a fellow muckracer that he has seen Baron in the Montezuma wetland complex. :loveshow:

This is the same area that Mariah, Beauty and Jemison were all released after rehab-great place for a young Peregrine!

Right but they don't have 3 offspring to bind them together either and that are still around. Whereas with Pigott it's maintaining the status quo and making sure she doesn't abandon him is my take on it.

Maybe next year Beauty will be more receptive to him upon his return and things will work out differently? - we can always hope. Hope for the best because their lives are so fragile, you dont' know if next day they'll be gone.

It will sure be interesting next year if/when, Pigott, DC, and Beauty are all a year older...two of them being fully mature!!
Pigott will be serious next year about a nest...Did there ever get to be a nestbox put up near or where she is at so she wont come to Rochester again?

The building she favors is very unsafe and the owner, from what I've heard, wouldn't allow placement of a box anyway. There is a "cubby" on the building that Pigott and DC go into to bond, where eggs could be laid, but who knows as it can't be visualized by anyone. It was speculated that she laid eggs this year but the area where they might have been was breached and when the DEC boarded up the area, due to unsafe conditions for the Peregrines, there were no eggs found. The best thing for Pigott would be for her to leave Rochester and find a new spot but she seems to really love where she is so next year could be very interesting.
