Mary has a great link...

That's the link I use to get a lot of the info for that area when I start the banding reports.
I have tried to get hold of Mary for 2 yrs. & nothing, but the others that monitor are great about getting back to me. Very helpful or I'd still be sitting here saying.
What was that band number (from 2011) :teehee:

I'm getting concerned about the falcon at Grand Haven. She's been hanging around her nestbox & acting like she was going to lay an egg for at least a couple of weeks & actually I think its closer to a month. I just went to the site to see if they gave her age but there was nothing about the resident falcons. I'm wondering if she's older & in the same boat as Dorothy.

I've been thinking the same thing. I couldn't remember her age, so I checked the data base...If its the same female as last year, then she hatched in 2003 in Waukegan!!

It seems that a pattern has developed with laying late...ie: Lancing, Waukegan...and its because of new females...but, here's the other issue (and I had to go look this up) 4 eggs last year, 2 cracked, only 1 hatched..so, even though she's 11 (and heaven knows we've got some current females that are way older than that...) maybe last year was her last? Who knows..

I guess its the bird version of menopause & it isn't easy on them. She's "always" in that nestbox & seems to spend a good bit of time trying to lay an egg. :egg15:

Falcon Cam Update: Thank you for your patience, the camera should be up soon with live streaming. There are four eggs in the nest and the same parents are back for the 12th year! In the meantime, the page has a video of last year's highlights: http://www.library.umass.edu/falcons

U of Toledo..

Terrible fight in the box between Belle and intruder female. Appears to be injuries. Eggs were scattered and currently only 2 eggs in cam view. The male (Allen) returned to the box after the fight. It also appears that Belle too returned after the fight.

Pics and info on FB page:

Currently, no falcon in the box, but I can hear one outside. I can't believe I can actually get this cam now...

Can't see Allen, he must have the other 2 over to the right
