Wish I could get the Toledo cam, but I've tried opening it right after re-starting my computer & tried during off-peak, but nothing is working. Glad those of you who can get the cam are keeping us updated. :thanku

RE: Toledo..

I missed the pic, but Belle's eye is less swollen and more open this morning...Just had a switch and I'm guessing Allen brought her breakfast. he is now on the eggs..very, very windy there...

The camera just blipped out, but before it did, Belle jumped up at Allen's call - I think she's eating on the ledge. She also opened the injured eye.

Saw Belle flying low but well on the side of the tower opposite the nest. She landed smoothly on one of the lower abutments.

Belle returned at the same moment ODNR called. How's that for serendipity? ODNR was glad to hear that she's flying and that both birds are incubating the eggs. As others here have said, the state would intervene only if Belle took a turn for the worse. For now, I'll keep them updated (for some reason, no one in ODNR has a FB page!) and we'll go from there.

Jackson County Big Red & Chayton. I got this update from Sky_Wings
Hi Kitten,
Not sure exactly what happened at Jackson, there were no wittnesses.
Dustywings had the best account of what went on but is seems like an intruder had aroused Red from the nest. In her hasty retreat she dislodged & broke the egg we see in the forground. Dusty also thoughtt she seen a crack / dent in another egg in the nest bowl.
It was also thot that someone viewing from a window adjacent to the nest had roused Red from the nest.
Chayton was absent for a +/- 4 hour period and there was concern for him, but he ultimately returned un-scathed & fine.
Other than that, that is about all I can tell you.

I wish we could get through to the general public , how important it is not to alarm or startle these guys.
I have lots of problems at U o f A . Caused on of our young ones to crash last yer. They just laugh and mock you , when you try and explain things to them. I keep trying to educate but it is those few that are always problems

Great vid, Anca..and congratulations on getting it posted..

Thanks for the info, KF about jackson...well, that's a bummer...I don't know if I would rather it be an intruder or a not too careful Window watcher..neither is very good in my opinion...

canoodle is a good sign, Bev...yea!!
