2102 CDT OOPS! THEY PULLED BACK THE CAM VIEW TO USUAL POSITION. WE STILL CAN SEE AN EGG FROM HERE IF SHE LAYS ANOTHER ONE. :egg8:

Lady of the Loch osprey frightened from her nest by two men after laying 69th egg at Loch of the Lowes

WARDENS at the Scottish Wildlife Trust were quick to intercept the two men after seeing them walk into the restricted area 13 hours after Lady produced the first egg of the season.

Lady is seen with her record 69th egg.
TWO men disturbed the nest of the UK’s oldest breeding osprey just hours after she laid her first egg of the breeding season.

Police were called to Loch of the Lowes reserve, near Dunkeld, Perthshire, on Sunday afternoon – 13 hours after Lady produced a record 69th egg.

Volunteers who watch her nest around the clock spotted the men close to the site.

The 28-year-old bird, who has fledged 50 chicks, was frightened from her nest by the intruders and left her egg unattended for 20 minutes.

Volunteer wardens and police intercepted the men, who ignored signs to stay clear of the area.

Scottish Wildlife Trust ranger Emma Rawling said: “We can’t speculate about their motivation.”

Police are investigating.
