"Well, I don’t know about you, but my eyes are tired from watching the various electronic devices this weekend to see more eggs hatch. Unfortunately, it looks like we will have only one chick this year, but fortunately, we will have ONE chick this year.

I am not totally giving up until KathyQ does and she will let us know by gradually not obsessing with covering those eggs that are underneath her. Stranger things have happened and over the years, I’ve learned that nature has a way of surprising us humans.

I am just grateful that the chick appears healthy and is obviously being well fed and won’t lack for attention.

You may ask why only one hatch. There are probably a laundry list of reasons why and it’s hard to know what may have happened until the eggs are collected at banding time – if they stay intact.

So let’s toast this new little falcon. It won’t be difficult to tell who we are watching that’s for sure!"

Congrats Gigi! Somehow I missed the hatch. Singles always get spoiled rotten.
