There are those who'd rather lie than say I dont know. NOT naming any names.
Empty eggs dont cheep! I know full well I heard a chorus of chupping eggs.
Its so quiet before dawn, so there is no outside noises and I know what I heard.
I would not be surprised if Travis couldnt keep 5 eggs warm - in which case I never would have heard chupping eggs.
May 21 chick was trying to hatch and I could hear it cheeping with the hatchling.
It died and I saw Michele take it out. :(
As a singer and piano player I know harmony from solo.
CAUSEI may not be *qualified* to say what happened, but I suspect it was the shells being particularly thick.
Birds do not help chicks hatch - thats Nature. The struggle helps it survive.
sky mentioned a virus inside shell - that could be.
Its not impossible the spraying last year for the bugs did contribute to failed hatches.
I figure the first egg she ate was infertile.
I saw the falcon eat one of her eggs at - I think the king plant, or one of the xcel cams.
She is an old bird and laid a white egg and ate it - possibly this occurred twice.
She was replaced by another young bird.
2 of Wilmintons 6 eggs hatched but the chicks died.
Lots of nesting troubles this year
