10 am feeding. This chick cries all the time!

8 am I was shocked to see little TraMi Tumbles WALKING!
She has grown some. :)

If GSB bands TraMi I imagine they will see if there is any sample of eggshell,
even some of the pebbles, to examine for analysis - hopefully by an independent lab

The little guy is growing like a weed! Without competition at feedings I would imagine so. They seem to be calling it "Macintosh" a lot more on social stream, though I haven't seen where GSBDweller has, so it may not be official. Sorry Shep but I like "Elvis" also taken from the parents names. :biggrin:

A couple of snips from the 11:48 am cdt feeding. Sorry they are so dark, the webcam was fairly clear. I don't know what happened.

Anyway you can kind of see the eyass is growing up quickly.

I have not kept up on the single hatch of 5 eggs on GSB.
Those eggs DID NOT freeze, the overnite temps were never below freezing.

I happened to catch the 1pm feeding and was a little taken back by it. After my 2nd snip the chick did a face plant and was not moving. After a while I think Michelle was a little concerned too and started to poke or nibble at it. It took about 10 minutes before the chick started to show signs of life and move a little, whew!. I voiced my concerns on social stream when I saw Michelle poking it and got into an argument with a chatter that thought I was trying stir trouble. lol

The third and fourth pics are seven minutes apart. I've seen and heard of food comas before but this one had me on the edge of my perch. lol

Del, they are so outta touch with reality on the GSB SS!
I also saw that. Michelle actually picked the chick up in her beek.
I too wondered if the solo chicko had passed on-o.
That nestbox does not seem normal to me. I am NO expert by a long shot.
Even the parents dont seem ..... not sure what to say.
WHY havent they dumped the rotten egg?

I am glad you got snips. I was eating, couldnt snip. lol

Thanks for those pics...and from the size of that crop, I would have to guess..food coma!!! It can create quite the panic if you don't see them alot...especially in multi-chick clutches..everyone will just be eating away and BAM..one chick will do a face plant and not get back up...of course, the first thought is..Oh my, its choked on something...but nope....food coma...some chicks are better at it than others..and no amount of coaxing from a parent will get them back up...LOL Then there are the piggies that keep eating when they probably should stop.

RRP may be doing the banding a little early because they want that egg to study. I don't know, but I hope that is the reason and they are able to retrieve it before Michelle takes it out. :egg16:
