Bird Cams Around the World

Just got back from downtown. Would have liked to stay longer, but wanted to get in my car while it was still pretty daylight. Lil Dad made a food drop on the glass cubbie above the ledge, and one of the girls was working on it. Green came there too, but didn't get anything. About then Lil Dad flew over to the roof of the U Building. There must have been pretty much of a whole bird over there, for I saw Lil Dad pick it up. So did Green. He flew over and I guess ate it, as he went back in away from the edge a bit. When I left down there at 8:30, there were two juvies on the roof of the U, and one of the girls still on the cubbie. I now see one over there at the column. Am hearing sounds like firecrackers, not fireworks. I think there's one in the scrape, but too dark to tell for sure.

Looks like Niecey on the stick; no kids in sight.

I think that's Lil Dad on the stick as of 8:15 this morning.

Screaming juvie just arrived on the ledge. First at the column, but now in the scrape. By the size, I'm guessing it's Green Boy.

Am seeing a sacked out juvie in the shade of the orange post as of 11:12 this morning. Now there are two juvies up there. 11:25.

Two on the ledge now . . . one sunbathing . . .

Went to Reading yesterday for my nephew's birthday party, so I stole an hour for falcon-watching downtown. The little boy was sitting on the roof above the nest ledge (must have fledged earlier in the day - didn't look eager to try again right away), and both girls were on the balcony railing looking like the wished they had the nerve to try their wings too. But while I was there, neither one of them did. Columbia Red sat on the owl on the next ledge over most of my visit, but took off shrieking to chase off a Cooper 's hawk right before I left. Yellow Boy was on the courthouse most of the time, but flew over the roof with a tiny bit of prey for the fledgling to encourage him to fly. Didn't get a response so he took the food away with him.

So nice to see our fledglings all at home! Thanks for sharing the great pics and videos!

Agreed about Lil Dad being the best falcon dad ever. Later this afternoon I hope to get downtown for a little falcon watching. Glad you were able to spend a little time watching over Yellow Boy's family yesterday. Sue.

Tuned in to find Niecey on the shield. Lil Dad flew in shortly afterwards, and they are having a bonding session in the scrape.
