4 am I hear the gentle patter of rain and passing cars
Zoom cam is on, one of the parents is inside the box - most likely Travis, Dad.
He was on the perch - then went inside the box last nite, out of the rain.
I would expect Mom Michele is with Mac. They had quite a downpour of rain.
4.30 am Falcon moves out to box perch, shakes, scratches, rain has ceased, traffic increases.
4.38 am Songbirds begin to sing. Wee hints of dawn splash the cliff ledge below where Travis likes to sit. Parent flew to perch extension, preens.
4.50 am Both parents screaming, kakking, flying about
4.53 Travis landed on perch still screaming, looking down.
WOW! They sure echo, reverberate off the cliffs!

LAST YEAR - June 17, 2013 two of them slipped thru the gap just like Mac this year.
I took these pics last year.

Stolt, the smallest male, slips down thru the gap between box and perch
Simple Solution -
put a board under the gap between box and perchThe GSB SS lit up with frantic posts, many were -
a couple good posts.
- I hope this box is moved to a safer place.
- Please, someone reconfigure that nest.
I would like to see that box thoroly cleansed, and moved to the ledge below.
There the chicks would have a natural playground.
Where box is the fledglings have no place to play.
Their thinking was - this location is safer from predators, but these parents can handle those.
I have seen a great horned owl in the box here, so its not as if no predator can get there.
I also have seen a mouse/rat on roof. I think someone else saw an eagle.
