WELL I HAD TO TAKE SOME STUFF UP TO WORK TONIGHT SINCE I WAS UNEXPECTEDLY OFF YESTERDAY WITH A MIGRAINE. DECIDED TO GO UP ON THE ROOF SINCE I SAW CAMERAS UP THERE. GOT TO SEE STEVE, WILL AND JOHN UP THERE WAITING FOR SOME ACTION. NIECEY WAS ON THE LOUVERS AT THE UNIV AS I WENT UP TO THE ROOF OF THE GARAGE. AT ONE POINT, A JUVIE WAS HEADED BACK OUR WAY FROM THE RIVER. WENT AROUND 333 TOWARDS MARKET STREET BUT NEVER CAME OUT ON THE OTHER SIDE OR BACK AROUND. WE ONLY STAYED LESS THAN AN HOUR, BUT WHEN I WAS LEAVING, I SAW WHERE NIECEY WAS SITTING WAS NOW A JUVIE, SO I'M GUESSING IT CHASED HER OFF AND THAT'S WHY WE DIDN'T SEE THE JUVIE AGAIN AFTER IT WENT AROUND 333. SO THAT'S ALL I SAW, NIECEY AND ONE JUVIE. HOPING THE GUYS SAW MORE LATER ON.

I RAN INTO A GUY WITH HIS KIDS WHO SAID THE FIREWORKS WERE TONIGHT, SO NOT SURE WHEN THEY ARE.

LOOKS LIKE THE CAMS ARE STILL WORKING :-)

Just checking on all the kids before going to bed. Cam is still on...

Wish I was as sure about these kids as I am about Rochester's. Beauty herded them all to the nestbox & stayed there with them until red, white & boom was over. They have a night-vision box so you can see them at night.

I'll be watching for reports this weekend, as I'm sure someone will go downtown.

Thanks for your report, Reenie. From being down there MANY times at night this year, I know the juvies are not returning to the ledge to sleep, and often haven't even seen a falcon until at least 8:00 or later. I may or may not get down there tonight, but don't want to get involved with the fireworks crowd. Will definitely be down there tomorrow, though.

She may have gone up to the cam perch, as it looked like she went that way.

JUVIE WAS FLYING BY. NOTICED SOME FOOD ON THE POINT. DON'T THINK IT WAS THERE BEFORE I PUT LAUNDRY IN. JUVIE LANDED AND PECKED AT FOOD AND THEN TOOK OFF ABERDEEN SIDE AGAIN........

CATWOMAN, THAT'S PRETTY NEAT ABOUT ROCHESTER ... I AM SURPRISED! THANKS FOR REPORT AND UPDATES REENIE! I DIDN'T THINK THERE WOULD BE LIVE STREAM THIS MORNING, BUT GLAD THERE IS. HOPE THE FIREWORKS DON'T SCARE THEM AWAY. WILL THE DISPLAY BE FROM CITY ISLAND THAT I THINK I'VE HEARD YOU ALL REFER TO IN THE PAST?

The fireworks are set off from City Island, which is about 5 or 6 blocks from the nest ledge. A bunch of years ago a gal and I were down there the night of the fireworks specifically to see what the juvies did when the fireworks started going off. The answer was that they had just settled down for the night, and shortly after the flashing and booming started, the juvies were frantically flying everywhere. I will not subject myself to watching something like that again, and all of it is beyond my control. But not beyond my concern.

Jane , I understand the feelings about seeing that. I too wouldn't want to see that in person. Thanks Reenie for the postings and glad you got to see everyone on the rooftop. Also was thankful the Cams are still on, as I think it is Niecey eating on the Ledge right now. Can't see what bands they are. A beautiful Sat.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE JANE. THAT IS VERY CLOSE TO THE NEST AND SURE TO UPSET THEM. I HOPE THEY ARE ABLE TO REMAIN SAFE TONIGHT. I BELIEVE SOME OF THE JUVIES FLEW @ THE START OF THE FIREWORKS IN SALT LAKE CITY LAST NIGHT, BUT ALL HAVE BEEN SEEN THIS MORNING. IT HAS TO BE TERRIFYING! :egg15:

The light isn't good right now, but I think Niecey is in the scrape doing some housekeeping. Market Street passes right in front of the Carson Building, and four blocks away is the Market Street Bridge which crosses the Susquehanna River. City Island is in the middle of the river. I'm not sure where the fireworks are set off. Either from the north end of the island or maybe from barges in the river. Thanks for the info about the Salt Lake juvies, Swinwk. And now I think that was Lil Dad in the scrape, as he's on the shield.

I believe the fireworks have ended. I would guess they lasted between 20 and 25 minutes. I could hear the booming at my house, but that has stopped now. Hope all will be well with the falcons.

Yes! Nice to see him sitting there this morning and hearing the sounds of HBG. Will be silenced soon. Glad the fireworks are over.

Am seeing a juvie over near the column. Not sure how long it has been there. Hoping to get downtown around 5:30 or so. Juvie now WAY out on the stick. I think it's Green Boy.

Lil Dad arrived on the point about a minute ago. He went over the end of the ledge and wiped his beak off on the building. Thirty seconds later he took off down Aberdeen. Leaving here in five minutes or less.
