FALCON WATCH TEAM SAYING THEY ARE STILL THERE! PHOTO OF BOB I BELIEVE LOOKING TOWARD SKY WITH BINOCULARS. HOPE NONE OF THE FALCONS GET UPSET WITH THE FIREWORKS AND FLY AWAY. DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY WOULD GO ... THE MAIN FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN MY TOWN IS OVER ... BUT, EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD YOU DRIVE THRU IS HOPPING, CRACKING, AND BOOMING ... SURE IT WILL BE THE SAME THERE!!! Hi, hello! I have a few more videos to upload from last night. I am not going down to the site today but I think everyone feels Skye is gaining skills and is not coming back down! Bob said this may be last day of official watch or maybe tomorrow. Sad! The fireworks did scare the kids off the buildings and Skye left the building she had been on all night. Of course she headed into a very dark area, but once the fireworks ended, we caught site of her and one other flying back to Eagle Gate. Phew. All the Twitter updates and photos are mine, if you have questions. Yes that is Bob looking skyward at dark. He could make out Dad and one kid on COB.

Here is a little montage including our radio calls. Its sort of loud. The first bit is when Skye was up on the tall brown building then its a quick view of the intersection at State and S. Temple. Then us discussing that Skye had just left the Eagle Gate and headed East.

I "got your back, jack.." :teehee:

here ya go:

about YouTube...not only do you have to remove the "s" but you have to remove all the code back to the "&"...so, looking at the original URL you get:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDagOMVU4sQ&list=UUU4uPl-l7iuFRvHnCs3PYcw

everything in RED has to be removed before using the YouTube button..(if YouTube hadn't changed their coding, this wouldn't be an issue...thanks YouTube...boo...)

I thought that night footage came out great! This year I have been able to capture so much with my phone because I switched to an iPhone! The photos and video are so clear and good enough to instantly tweet, and I can edit it right on my phone. While I was editing this yesterday, the iPhone popped up a note that said "if you turn your screen to landscape, this video would be much better" haha. Next time. On my Android, if I turned landscape then my video would have been sideways for sure. So sorry for the mini window on this one haha.

I would really like to do some last day interviews today... I think it would be fun. I'm sure today is last day. I leave for Chicago on Wednesday and work Mn/Tues, so I'll do some final posts but I can already tell my readers are going away.. so another year comes to a close.

Thanks for your diligence with the ground crew. I am part of the Peregrine Patrol here in Indy, Market Tower nest. Our season was cut short when our only chick flew into a building. I have missed that experience this year so I am happy to read about others experiences.

I love my iPhone too Lizzy. I have had the 4s for over 2 years and am waiting for the 6s to come out. Rumors are later this year.

Yes, they are in a lot of urban places here. I have them in my pines and the scrub oak. We saw our sitting with the babies on the driveway soaking up sun yesterday. I'll have to get a pic the next time.

I work today/tomorrow then flying to Chicago for 10 days. I'll likely not get any more photos of the kids but I have a few from Sat/Sun that I need to edit and post on the blog. Hopefully tonight. As is the usual behavior for our falcons, once they learn the flight skills, they seem to disappear with the parents all day. My guess is that they are flying west to where the parents hunt shore birds etc., learn a thing or two, then return to our buildings for the evening. They seem to appear right after the sun goes down, to fly and roost here. I wish I had time to sit downtown one last evening before they are gone but its likely that I won't get to it. I'll check in with Bob here and there and see what he's seen in the evenings and let you know. As he told me, even though official watch is over, many of the volunteers come down in the evening to catch a glimpse of the falcons flying.
