These guys have been here a lot today...Durand left..but, now she's back!!! Scraping away in the box and picking up pebbles...Kinda makes me wonder if Hoshi and Dart have moved further out in the territory...I hope they are proving to be good hunters!!!

It is as I feared for poor little Blaze. I guess she will be sent to a hacking station if they even have one nearby. How unfortunate for her, but at least she would survive, hopefully.

Wasn't it from somewhere near here that they released a bird that ended up starving to death because they didn't realize until too late that it couldn't hunt? I could have my places mixed up, so many birds, so many years. Anyway, it was very tragic, but it was a lesson to learn from I'm sure. Just talking in circles because I'm worried. I'm sure they will know and do the best thing for Blaze.

Well, I for one am thrilled that they are not releasing Blaze...(if they could ship her to Gord in Edmonton, he has a great hack site~I volunteer to fly her out there..LOL) I'd have to google to see if there are hack sites in Ohio...Only one I can think of right now is the one in VA where all the bridge nestlings go..I'm sure they are trying to figure out what is best for her!! Release to the ledge at this point wouldn't be good!!

ljames, I seem to recall that situation...its happened again this year too, but hopefully with better results. The Providence male they rescued a couple of days ago had been in rehab 2 weeks ago..(I don't think it was for that long either)...anyway, he was found emaciated and too weak to fly....had lost half his body weight. They are hopeful that he will recover..but, then they will be left with what to do...same with Blaze..

I guess in an ideal world, a falconer would be great...but I'm sure those are not easy to find. For now she is safe....not being a wild falcon, but safe!! I would hate to think she was out there, starving....

Well, I've had this cam open since sunrise!! Its feast or famine...I have seen no one!!! Maybe D & S prepped the "house" yesterday in anticipation of a quick vacation..or the kids are back from summer camp and they have to return to being parents...who knows..

Hopefully, somebody will show up later today..

It is very quiet this morning; hopefully we will see some activity today; I would love it, if Dart would come back for a visit; I am keeping a watch at OSU in case he finds us here. Hey Dart or Hoshi, we have a great nest box situated on the hospital - we need occupants and you need a territory - a great fit and you don't have to go far either :sum9:
