bev,
You have the video to prove (to me anyway) that Aspro is alive and well down there in that tree. :cheer
Thank you so much.

I sincerely hope this video is indeed showing Aspro is alive and well. Many thanks for sharing it.

Swift is sitting on the ledge at the moment, having a preen. She and Beau have just had a quick bowing session, which is always lovely to watch!

SAW THAT, LOZA. HOPE PEOPLE ARE REMAINING KIND TO HER WITH THEIR INQUIRIES DURING THIS EMOTIONAL TIME. TOO BAD THE STUDENTS ARE AWAY ON HOLIDAY ... THEY WOULD BE RELENTLESS ... AND KNOW NO BOUNDARIES ... IN THE SEARCH FOR ASPRO! CURRENTLY, SWIFT IS ASLEEP IN DOORWAY WITH HER HEAD TUCKED.

Thanks for the great video, Bev! I think even without seeing another bird flying over there, the parents' actions show they are feeding their child. Why else would Swift fly away with food that Beau brought to the nest?

I also read the update (first thing I did when I got up this morning was check for an update). I feel badly for Cilla because this has to be very stressful for her & more stress is added because of other obligations. I didn't realize that the grass below the tower is tall so it would be very difficult to see something on the ground unless you were almost right on top of it!

Last, but not least, welcome to BCAW Corvid Lover!
:welcome

Image Corvid lover!!! It is great to have you here with us..

Bev, that vid was fantastic!!! :ohyes: What a great catch...It certainly did look like Swift was taking the prey to Aspro...DEF, is this what you were describing too?

Interesting, them taking prey to the trees. I never see falcons eat in trees, I know they can eat in a tree, but I always watch them eat on a ledge, on a rock, on a platform, in the nest, etc. This, gives me hope that Aspro is in those trees and they are feeding him. Somebody needs to climb that water tower with a good set of binoculars. :teehee:

Welcome Corvid lover.

Many thanks, all! I've just read Cilla's update and I do feel sorry for her - it must be so frustrating to have so much happening when a young peregrine disappears on your doorstep. Apparently Swift was calm as Cilla had a quick search - let's hope that's a good sign.

Bev ty for the video. As you are really good with peregrine falcons and I know that you are on to something with Swift flying off with food.

Welcome Corvid lover.

I too am thinking that it's uncharacteristic for Swift to fly off with the prey and that this could indicate she is bringing it to Aspro, down there in the trees.
I seem to remember from previous years that the kids often end up there in the first few days after fledge.

did not have recorder on but about 10 minutes ago Swift flew down and off to left. she had been looking above and twisting head around to look above an d behind.

I may just be dreaming but....

not tryi8ng to get anyone's hopes up, just observing what I see, when watching. saw someone going down road also on foot

Will watch when I can , will put recorder on .
