Many thanks to Shawn and Libby at CCB for finding a way to get a new system set up at James River Bridge. We are very fortunate to be able to watch falcons here again in 2010! All three cams are up and running. :bravo

They have spotted a female and male while setting up the cams. We are hoping its Elizabeth and James. James is the oldest known falcon in the country, and it would be fantastic to see him back again this year. I believe he is now 20 years old.

Keep your eyes open. We are hoping to ID them.

Here are a few photos. James in banded, and Elizabeth is not.

Tail feathers look different from earlier pics of Elizabeth, but maybe that's just the way she was holding her wings...

& now whoever it was is gone. I'm really hoping it was James, cause I've been worried about him because of his age. If I remember correctly, it is the male who makes the bowls in the nest & this one was doing that.

In comparing the size of this one to the earlier pics I took of Elizabeth, this one seems to be smaller--could it be James? :loveshow:

The bib doesn't seem to have any specks either, but I'm viewing it from the side so its hard to tell--wish he/she would turn towards the cam...
