OK...I know its dark..BUT...we have 4 cams at James River?!!!! Really?! Can't wait to see if this is true during daytime!!!

ABOUT FALCONCAM (Same link as above)



*The Center for Conservation Biology, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Shenandoah National Park, and Virginia Coast Reserve Long-term Ecological Research, has installed video cameras on four peregrine falcon nest sites throughout Virginia for the 2010 breeding seasons. Click on the links below to view live images from these falconcams (several nest sites have more than one camera monitoring the nest). Cameras are operational 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted.

***A BIG thanks to BCAW members for their donations to restore the Cobb camera after the devestataing noreaster storm that destroyed the equipment in 2009.

Here's a few from today. James was very busy making sure the bowl was big enough (it looks like two craters to me!), and I never saw Elizabeth, who must be impressed by his nest building skills :grin: .

I just went to shut down my screens, and checked the new cam (6:20). Caught both of them bowing in the box. James jumped, but he's still in the first pic. Elizabeth is still there. She was rolling in the bowl for a while. It can't be long now! I love the night vision, and she seems to lay all her eggs at night.
