Kris...the wildearth link is still working..

and carly, that was my first thought that she was removing it from the box...

Is this cam archived? If it is, we can locate the "flip moment"...

He did just poo a couple of times, so that's good. He is moving around a bit now but leaning forward (good idea). Poor little guy--I bet he & his mom sleep well tonight!

The archives for the time period we need hasn't posted yet...so, will have to wait awhile..ironically, there are currently 388 viewing the wildearth link. so taking it "off line" didn't fool everybody......

I don't want to seem like a pessimist, but I don't think this baby is out of the woods yet. If we need to continue calling the game commission, I will...

Kate replied to a post I put up, she says they have video that shows the baby has issues with it's legs and wings - balance issues. I have now asked if it's possible ear mites could be causing his balance issues as he otherwise seems healthy and strong?

Looks at the size of him, his down is in good condition too..so that tells me his insides are working? So they need to examine him to determine what is causing the balance issue. It may be something treatable, if it's not then they could cross that bridge when they come to it.

Ear mites, that's a good suggestion. I hope its something that simple that can be treated.
I also have to keep reminding myself that he just turned 2 weeks old yesterday.

Glad she responded to you Carly...I think we thought there could be balance issues. I suspected as much after watching the day I recorded the video...it will be interesting to see if she has feedback about the ear mites. I know they really stressed checking the ears when they banded at HBG...but, don't think we're seeing any evidence of parasites elsewhere...and heaven knows we've seen its belly enough..

Balance in humans is via the inner ear...probably the same in birds?

No matter how many of us have said it on various FB pages, nobody sees the need or value of moving up the banding date...they just can't seem to connect the dots...I'm starting to think that I can't connect the dots!!! LOL. To me its a no brainer. If this chick is as "damaged" as they believe, why bother to band it at all and return it to the box only to have it crash and burn...I just can't wrap my head around their logic!!

Somebody on Pittsburgh Falconuts has posted the link to the Wildearth cam...wonder if they'll pull that one now or just let it run...

He's being fed now & was standing, but ended up lying down on his stomach. I was nervous so I was glad to see he did that. Is he supposed to be sitting on his butt & not up on his legs? You could see the little legs start to come up when he put his head back to take a bite. :egg14:

Well he was on his back with his legs folded for over 24 hours, muscle cramps, stiffness? That's why I'd like him to have a good sleep, it might allow him to heal.

Makes sense to me...he was also spread eagle (or falcon) with Dorothy on top for the longest time I hope its little hip joints are ok...
