Mom hugging the kids... She seems to be a very "wings on" momma. I almost never see Zeus in there with them... Or is it just my timing?

Kids were home alone when I came back, but then Zeus stopped in- it was good to see him! He left, but just camec back with prey. He is eagerly and tenderly feeding the babies...sweet Zeus!!!

Maltese in nest and I can barely see part of chick pile. Lighting comes and goes ... do not know if this is lightning or outside lighting is flickering ... sky does not light up as in storm and do not see rain.

SWINK, it was partly sunny partly cloudy here in South Bend yesterday, no lightning. The nest box faces South and the lighting changes were probably from clouds going over the sun.

I have had no watching time, will not get any until next week or later, but I occasionally see someone perched somewhere, during my errands downtown. Yesterday it was someone on top of the nest box. :eggsmile:

Thanks sbwatcher, but it was after dark when I viewed this. Usually, when light in nest is flickering @ night, I can see lightening in distance of sky and I did not see that this time.

Maltese just brought in a whole bird, looked brown with cream colored chest, like the one Beaster brought home at Racine. Maltese had not plucked this one much, either. Just started pulling out bits for the kids to eat....

Can see all 4 chicks and Maltese facing us on ledge! She has slimmed some, but looking gorgeous as ever!!! :flirty:

Well, they are very polite chicks. She just hopped in nest with small piece of prey and they remained in their places and watched til she was ready to offer. :eggsmile:
