I got all choked up when I saw it.

we ARE Nuts!! I boo hooed for days after Orville was killed...and then again a year later when Scout was murdered...yes, I said murdered...(Columbus Pefas)

Since then, I've toughened up a tad AND I'm very picky about which nests I watch and when!!

This has been such a tough year for Osprey. I think it's going to get worse as the population continues to grow and many areas are getting saturated (IMO)...

Same for falcons and eagles....territorial battles are increasing and residents are regularly being replaced...I really hate that...

No...Scout died in 2010 and Orville died in 2009. They were my favorite PeFa pair...

(Ohhhh - I probably read that when I read the backgrounds on the nests when they fledged (and I check "view active topics" even though I'm not always sure what I'm reading about, ie., White girl, Red Girl! That's how I found the 'pigeon' nest! I miss them...))

The only bird death that truly got to me was Mom Norfolk eagle.
She left 3 young. All raised by WCV and fledged.
I wrote her story - Epitaph for an eagle.
She was hit and killed by a plane.

Good morning, Shep - Did you know that Pa Norfolk paired up with a daughter this season? ..And they had an eaglet? Interesting circle of life, eh?
