Well I broke down and asked about the Davenport cam, this was the reply

Hi, - We haven't heard anything from MidAmerican Energy about them operating a camera this year from the nest on their local building.

Can anyone read the bands? Maybe 34/? [b/g]

"I had to share this with all of you tonight cause I am so fascinated by it. Hi everyone, it's David Custer. My friend Kristy Bearse snapped this picture outside her 15th floor office window in Flint's Mott Foundation Building today. This is a Peregrine Falcon. It is one of a pair that she says have been downtown for several years. They are known as Barry and Majesty (male and female) and I am told they've had babies.

I did a little research and the Peregrine Falcon was virtually eradicated from eastern North America by pesticide poisoning in the middle 20th century. After significant recovery efforts, they have made an incredible rebound and are now regularly seen in many large cities and coastal areas. In case you are wondering what they are eating downtown, Peregrine Falcons hunt medium-sized birds, dropping down on them from high above in a spectacular stoop."

Now lets see is this the pair that laid eggs in a gutter or something like that. I remember seeing a few posts last year or the year before, about them. Maybe some students were monitoring them and took some pictures. I hope at least I'm partly right. BarbB you would be the one to know something right?

Majesty and Barry have a long history in Flint. In 2009, they hatched one chick on a narrow ledge of the Durant building that was under reconstruction. The workers left the side with the nest undisturbed as long as possible. On banding day, the MDNR relocated the chick to the UM Northbank Center, kitty-corner across the street. Both Majesty and Barry often perched and fed on this building. The move was a success and they continued to use the Northbank Center for their nestings for several years. In 2013, the nest failed, due to flooding. Employees installed a traditional nest box for the 2014 season. Majesty and Barry rejected it and attempted to nest back at the Durant Building that no longer had any substrate on the narrow ledge. The eggs rolled off. The MDNR installed a nest tray on the ledge of the Durant Building in June of 2014. It was successfully used in 2015 with one chick. It will be interesting to see what 2016 brings!
