Oh dear, Kim! Do you know which birds are there? I'm watching, too! :(

I think our male and the intruder male I saw earlier. The intruder is on the left.

I'm getting captures that show the bands, so I'll post after this is over...

I was just on the phone with Craig Koppie who confirmed that the bird that I thought was our male, was not our male. We could see a black over green band on the left leg. So were these two male intruders or our new female and another intruder fighting? Unbelievable action!!! I'm glad it wasn't a fight to the death!!!!!

I have recorded 22 minutes of it. WOW ! Looked like the one that fled was injured, I thought I saw a little bit of red on the beak of the one that stayed in the box and now is sitting on the ledge, just a small piece of the tail shows.

Forget what I just said because the birds had changed places so it could have been our bird on the left at the end.

Was that something hanging off of the beak at the end or was it the bird's tongue hanging out panting?

Glad you recorded it Ingrid--now I can stop trying to make a slideshow, which I've never done before. I hate it when this happens, but it was probably inevitable at this nest with all the intruders!

I thought it was something hanging off the beak, but it could have been its tongue. I noticed that the bird you originally thought was the resident tiercel had a white bib, where the other one had specks. Does the resident tiercel have a pure white bib?

I looked out the window when the first fighter left the box about 10:20 EDT. He (?) was joined in the air by a larger bird. Steve Martin of this office was watching his monitor and out the window at the same time. He briefly saw that two were in the air while one was still in the box. The first one out flew well and didn't look badly hurt.

Looks like a so far indecisive fight among males to me. I'm going to walk over to check things out on the ground and parking lot roofs.

Wow! I caught the end of it. Can't wait to see Ingrid's video. The smaller falcon on the right has a green band. Nancy, could you get any band numbers?

Thanks, Greg--I was hoping neither would be seriously injured!

No, I couldn't get any numbers, but I could see that the band on one was green & black...

He has a white bib! But our bird doesn't have a black over green band. I'm so confused...

I am uploading the complete unedited file now to zShare. Maybe I will make a shorter version later for Youtube. Link follows as soon as it's ready.

No, the one who came back has a white bib & that's the one who left first! BUT this one has a silver band, so it isn't the same one. Maybe this is the resident male? :?

The resident male has a black over red band on the left leg and a silver federal band on the right leg.
