This video host has ads on the page and before the video can be played. Click on "Close to play" and that ad will go away
The recording starts at 14.56 Ducth time wich is GMT+1

I just realise that in the USA daylight saving time has started this weekend, so that would mean Eastern standard time is no GMT -4 ? ? ? Yep, I think that's right

The one in the box right now has a black-over-red- band on the left leg.
And we had a short visit of a female.

About 20 minutes ago (10:50 am EDT) three peregrines were circling, diving and creakily calling in the air over the 1201 N. Market Street building, about three or four blocks nne of the nest site. They flew more or less west toward the nest building. They were rising and diving and their apparent relative sizes changed accordingly, but finally a small one dove at a big one, then rocketed up out of the fray. The third bird then pursued the larger of the first two west out of sight. These were the same size (females, I think).

A minute or two later two birds of two different sizes were back at the original starting point over 120 N. Market. The smaller dove repeately at the larger, who did maneuvers of her own. They drifted in close company west toward the nest site on the Brandywine Building. Courtship dislpay, not a fight this time.

OMG, that was some video DEF. Thanks for getting it, but boy I hate to see falcons fight, especially in the dang nestbox like that. So there are at least two males and two females? Hope they get it worked out without somebody getting injured badly.

So you got the video, ljames...did you get the same screen as the one I posted? What did you do to get past it (then Ingrid won't have to go to any work so the rest of us can see it)? I tried disabling my ad blocking, but that didn't do the trick...

I got a screen that had an ad of someone trying to zip up their tight pants over the stomach.
Then I clicked on 'close and play', but I am in firefox.

Sounds like its just me then, Ingrid, so don't go to any trouble trying to find the problem. But thanks, anyway!

That thing says something about your computer blocking ads. I'm sure there is someway you can temp. disable that, but I don't know how, sorry. :(

I did try that, but it still wouldn't open, so I'll just give up. I did see the battle--I just wanted to see if the recording was started after some of the pics I got so I know whether to post them or not...

This is a link where you can download the file: https://www.yousendit.com/download/THE0 ... SHpIRGc9PQ
When you click on "Download" a small window opens and you can either play it (in Windows Media Player) or download it to your computer.

I was just outside again (11:45 EDT) . I could hear the falcons chipping as soon as I left my building. I walked a block toward the nest site and saw three birds in the air of different sizes. A small one, another about 10% larger, and a third bird much more massive than either of the first two. So now I think that we have at least two males and maybe only one female.

The birds initially drifted north out of sight. The smallest came back alone and perched on the lip of the nest box. The other two came back, the smaller diving on the larger, which continued when she perched on top of 1201 N. Market St. (more than 200 feet up). Eventually the largest bird flew a couple blocks west and joined the smallest bird in the box.

After another minute or so the two smaller birds were circling each other without really getting into it. The smaller one perched partway up another skyscraper (1105 N. Market) facing 11th Street. The female left the box and nearly joined him there, but instead kept flying, pursued by the other male. I don't think that we have a clear male winner yet.

Thanks for the update Greg! I can't believe I'm off work today and tomorrow so I'm not in town to see all the action!

Oh No! :o I just got caught up on the action here and really hate to hear of all this fighting. Many thanks to all who are capturing video, pics and providing live ground reports. I would like to capture one of those males and ship him to Columbus, Ohio where there is a beauty waiting.

Ar 1:00 pm EDT all three birds (a female, and I'm guessing the males that were fighting this morning) were in the air over 1201 N. Market Street. No spectacular aggression. The smaller male perched on 1105 N. Market. The female perched on 1201, where the other male dove at her before drifting off himself.

Pigeon and grackle feathers are new since Friday.
