19:39 Diamond returns without prey, she left at 12:40. The chicks are begging for food.
19:40 Xavier flies by.

Flappin, flyin feathers - its SNOWING in the box!
They are really eager to get rid of all the down,
flappin, preenin, eatin n sleepin.

7.41 pm Diamond enters - Xavier hovers briefly outside, vanishis.
Nov. 8 it appeared their meal was soon after noon, and nothing after.
They may have gone to bed with no supper.
When Mum came home she didnt bring prey.

remember, that oldest is 36 days old, probably one of females, so male is at least 35 days old. so they will start to wean them a bit with prey.

Thank you bev for your reassuring words and Sheperd for your poem and Arjen thanks for the videos, it was good to see it again. It wasn't as bad as it first looked to me :girlcrazy:

When I saw Diamond come in minus prey, it looked like the chicks were all over her while she was trying to find some scraps to feed them, unfortunately there was none. From Arjen's video the one lying in the corner, must have gone there to sulk :)

Pictures I took last night 8th Nov 7:40pm
Diamond arrived, no prey, chicks asking for food.

Looking for scraps of prey to feed the chicks. She stood her ground.

Diamond back on the ledge and two chicks "talking" to her.

The third chick is lying in the corner, protesting :)

Diamond managed to calm them down although the moths and mozzies buzzed around them :gaaaaah:

Prey has come in, not sure if it was Diamond.
The chicks have it and it is a bit of take the prey and run going on.

9th Nov 3:59pm Prey came in and the chicks claimed it, Diamond on the ledge.

I think this is Diamond in the corner. She left......It is Xavier, thank you Arjen.

Diamond? came back to the ledge then left.

I think they all got some of the prey. You need to get in there if you want to eat.

I huge thank you to everyone who has been covering this nest. I don't get to check in every day, but when I do, I'm amazed at how quickly they have changed.

I have virtually missed this season, but am so happy that all the memories have been stored here on BCAW. The documentation has been incredible...
