Its 6.45 pm in Oz, Mell all alone, and prey scattered all over!

Vim spotted in a shrub near office

A colleague saw Vim on the hand-rail and watched him fly to a bush not far from my office, so his first flight was much shorter than I anticipated, but he’s fine.

1015 am. Had a good look around and, in particular, checked all the campus roads and car parks. From the direction of flight, I expect Vim to be not that far from Rubi. I also walked along side road where Rubi last seen and checked all the trees, but they are very thick, so it’s possible I missed her. No sign of anyone, nor any bombing, all quiet.

I have no concerns. They chicks often do a disappearing act for several days before turning up together. The parents will know where they are. I did see both parents this morning, but I couldn’t get an indication of chick location from them.

Arjen & Bev, that looks like an adult to me. Flew by while looking in at Mel. It occurs at 32:17 on the video. That slow motion is great. I had to freeze the frame to get a good look.

I looked at head and chest and it still looked like adult but as you said whoever, can fly. ( in my heart I would like it to be a kid).

After so many years of monitoring from the ground, it bugs me when i cannot see what is happening outside.
