Is someone sitting on the outside of the cage?
I have been watching for a half hour and the
dark image comes and goes.

Thank you obxbarb. They are really so cute exploring everything. It's nice to see them happy and free. :D

Gingersnap, nice to see you! That is a feather that has been on the cage since at least the day the door was opened.

DGIF seemed to know that the kids would be just fine. Great pics, Barb and I am especially glad everyone is adjusting to life on the street, er, life in the heights. I continue to say prayers for them. And for Jersey City. And for Water Street.

I know what an effort it was to go down. But you were truly rewarded!!

I should have stayed another day.

Thanks for the link to the article and slide show. It's so good to hear the juvies are all doing so well and to see them in flight!

:agree: And I'm so glad you were able to see - and take pictures of - all 3 juvies this afternoon. It sounds as if the whole Richmond family is doing very well!

What Beautiful Photos! I'm so glad to hear that they are all flying so strong. I hope for continued success as well.

Barb is to Richmond like Reenie is to Harrisburg!!

Barb...How far of a trek is it for you to go to the city? If you continue to go there, you'll probably be rewarded with seeing the parents teaching them their much needed hunting skills.

I am so jealous Barb is "in the loop" and I'm sure she planned the entire fledge watch. So grateful for her to be there! And happy that our biologists showed us more of the action of them on the ledge than 2 years ago.

Hurrah for Richmond, VA.

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! :bravo

Barb is very lucky to live 15 minutes from the peregrines. It was very easy to drive down and back, even in rush hour traffic. I think the fledge watch was a coordinated effort by DGIF, Barb and her rehab group and others in the area whom the DGIF knew were dedicated watchers.

Richmond was the only place I have been so far where the governmental agency took such a visible role in coordinating the watching. Every single building in the immediate area was aware of the release and had telephone numbers to contact DGIF. The buildings all allowed DGIF and volunteers to be outside, inside or on top watching. This was no small thing. Those buisnesses are secured financial or business institutions with signs up saying no trespassing. Everyone had an identification badge of some sort. And those orange hats were everywhere.

Well, I was going to go down this afternoon, but we have big thunderstorms. We'll see how it goes later. I am going down to the beach for the week, so hopefully Mke or DGIF will be down to check on the kids.

Chris & I will do our best to get over there a few times. Be careful on the drive -- first line through, but second one on the way with severe TS watch extended throgh 9PM.

Have fun!!

Yup, our sky is black up here. It is supposed to be really nasty. Oops, wind just came up and I hear things being blown around.

So what does one do on the muggiest day of the summer? Stay inside and make videos. Here is Lucy climbing the Christmas lights just after her escape from the pen.

That video was so enjoyable, Bonnie! Thank you for all the work you did to create it. Lucy must have thought those lights were put there for the juvies to use as a stairway to the roof!
