Bird Cams Around the World

All four on the upper ledge and accounted for. There must have been a food drop, as one is self feeding. These kids are already running down the upper ledge with hop flaps. The wing flaps are intense and they still have so much fluff. They are a very active bunch.

Durand just delivered dinner and is feeding on the upper ledge. Two kids participating. Oops...3rd youngster just joined them.

One is full and dropped out. Two still being fed, but they seem pretty full. Oh...and now the 1st one has come back for more.

By the time this feed came to a close and Durand was serving up the last of the bird, the 4th youngster decided to come down the ledge. However, it didn't stop for a bite. Instead, it walked right between Durand and the rest of the brood, straight for the ledge cam...lol. This 4th chick already had a full crop.

6:17 pm - They all watch Mom fly off. The one closest to the cam is the one that walked right through the middle of the feed.


6:19 pm - All four accounted for. I love those pantaloons.


6:44 pm - Back view of one of the chicks and the feathers growing in nicely.

Durand just brought more food. Not much...just a snack.

7:06 pm - Small piece of prey that Durand was serving up is seen between the legs of one of the kids.


7:07 pm - This youngster that was blocking the feed turned a bit and has a white stain on its tail...maybe poop. Good for identification. This chick is also more feathered out than the one in the prior pic. The wing feathers are longer. I wonder if this is the male?


7:19 pm - This is the same chick...more feathered out than the others.

Parent arrived...did an upper ledge inspection and a quick look into the nest box before perching on top of the box...telling the kids that the box roof will be their next goal.

7:22 pm - Parent arrives and perches on the box roof.

Another parent arrived and it got very foggy, which was actually rain rolling in. A thunderstorm.

7:24 pm - 2nd parent arrives by the nest cam.


It just poured rain and I could see flashes of lightening. One parent left. The more feathered chick went into the nest box straight away and stood in the corner facing the wall, as if in a time-out...lol. Baby? I think it was frightened. The lightening was really flashing. Two chicks ventured out onto the lower ledge for a flapping frenzy and the last chick was quite bold, getting up onto the upper ledge in the heavy rain and wing fluttered. I think it was trying to take a bath..lol. Their different personalities are something to witness.

Yikes is right SGB; I am getting a little nervous too - since my eye sight is not great. I plan to take a few day s or part of a day or two to sit and watch out for the young ones. I figured the morninng hourse were the best - in the cool air. I am hoping that Sherri will be available to watch with me or watch after work in the afternoon. I also hope Mike will be able to watch from his vantage point. Anyone else?
