Scout flew from this end to the top of the nestbox. I also saw wing movement next door, so he must be over there. Now she is in the box.

She was on the box for awhile, then just went back inside for a short time. Not sure where she is now. I wish she would get "down to business." :egghatch:

This is really interesting. HE flies in chupping goes into the box and immediately behind him comes Scout with pray in her talons. They are having a lengthy discussion here while she sits there, not even eating. I was too slow to get a cap of him in the box, but it was definitely him in the box.

I will try and watch here when I get back. sounds a bit strange, but with a different male a lot of things will change.

Scout in the box, but just scraping around. Thought it might be egg time at first.

Who's that other guy in the camera lens?

Video: Scout’s New Guy Inspects the Nest Box

Scout and her new guy arrive at the nest box, around 12:30 local time. He immediately steps into the nest box and looks around. Bowing and vocalization (ee-chupping) is part of courtship behavior. Sometimes the falcon (female) will be in the nest box, arranging the pebbles and making a scrape while the male looks on. He was in the nest box around 10 minutes. Satisfied, he leaves. Scout will also leave, presumably following him. He's not banded, so we don't know anything about him. At least they will be easy to tell apart. Scout being the only one with bands.

New Guy looks a little suspicious - could he be seeing his reflection in the lens of the nest box cam?

Beans, you caught the interaction I described and posted at 12:15 local time, so it would have happened shortly before that. Thanks for catching that on tape. I wonder if there was an aerial food transfer right before they came to the nest?

bev, thanks for capturing the slideshow of action this afternoon. I had to leave for a few hours.
