Jersey City release: I saw two flying to the north over Trump Apts and Plaza 5. When I was there I thought an adult was perched on Plaza 5, but I'm not sure. Definitely there is one very healthy fledgling. If NJ had put different colored bands over the silver USFW band, we would have known for sure who was who. Here is a link to one of my photos. It is very hard for me to put photos up on Flickr and then convert to BBL code to post here, but I'll do it.

Very impressive video!! If you don't have time for the full 15 min. to watch, jump ahead to about the 7 min. mark. You'll get to see JR at banding!! (of course, I don't know which one is JR)...you'll also see Ben and Kathy Clark!

:loveheart2: Cadence is enjoying some free time perched on the rail near their nestbox. She seems to like the artificial turf they wrapped around the rail there.

Heard from Kathy Clark at DEP that all 3 JC girls have been seen recently: BD/74 and 75 were seen today (7-12), and BD/76 was spotted last week! :ohyes:

Jersey City:

Got a message from rfalconcam.com, Rochester falcons, that our first fledge, BD/74, that was released successfully was spotted at Montezuma Wildlife Refuge in upstate NY, not far from Rochester. See the post and photos (http://rfalconcam.com/forum/index.php?topic=16793.0) below:

Follow up to shared post from Patricia Carey.

After contacting Kurt Rhymestine, Patti Kneer and John Rodgers, I am convinced that the juvenile peregrine they photographed at Montezuma is a 2018 female from Jersey City, NJ.

Our Rochester NY falcon connection to New Jersey is 91/BA (Cadence/2015) at Union County Courthouse, Elizabeth NJ. Since the photographed band ID indicated BD over 7, we were hoping it could be the female BD/73 (Akira) hatched this year.

However, in additional closeup pictures from Kurt and Patti, it looks like a number 4 in the green. That means the juvie sighted is BD/74 from Jersey City, NJ

This peregrine is already a success story. During demolition efforts on the old Goethals Bridge, 3 eyases were found by workers the next day inside a girder that was brought down. They were rescued and taken to The Raptor Trust.

The Goethals orphans were fostered at Jersey City falcon site by the resident adults. BD/74 prematurely fledged and was rescued for the 2nd time. So exciting to see she has flown west and visiting upstate NY.
