So far this morning, only M15 has visited the tree, but Harriet has been seen flying per mods.

7:40p ish M to the veranda then to attic. Flies off west followed by H from the nest to the west.

It appears Harriet and M15 are willing to fight for their nest if necessary. Even though they did not initially sleep on the nest tree last night, Harriet 1st then M15 flew to the attic at 3:00 am within 1 minute of each other to defend their nest from the owls that could be heard in the distance, but never seen by the mod!! They remained there the rest of the night!! Nobody is on the nest tree right now.

Harriet and M15 are working 24/7 to defend their nest!! Owls during the night and eagles by day. From cam 2 and the pond cam at 11:08, you can see a visitor fly in (I would have never known it was not one of them as no zooming was done) and at 11:16 it is noticed by M15 and Harriet with M15 flying to a branch below it and Harriet flying straight toward it flushing it off the branch. M15 gives chase followed immediately by Harriet who had landed on a small branch just above the visitor when she flushed him out and then the branch it had been on. Both returned to the tree eventually, after the chase.

Sleeping on the tree tonight! Stay safe you two! From the pond cam, you can see both in the attic right now.

Harriet is currently on the tree! They had a quiet night per mods ... only a couple of alerts between midnight and 1:00 am, but nothing for sure seen or heard from the owls.

Latest Update: an hour ago
4:10pm M15 arrives to the nest with a stick. 4:12 p M to the attic. 4:27p M leaves the attic flying west. 4:29p M returns to the attic H vocalizes. 4:43p M flies East.

14.41 Harriet arrived on the branch. M15 in the nest then on the branch,

Nobody home now, but Harriet and M15 spent the night on the tree without incident from what I can glean from the mod's notes.

M15 is currently on the tree, Harriet was there earlier leaving just prior to his arrival to fly west per mod.

They spent the night in the tree peacefully and M15 has already flown this morning, but Harriet remains on the tree.

The GHO'S are unrelenting this season. Gleaned from the nest activity notes here through the night, at 1:44 a GHO knocked M15 off the branch! M15 returned very vocal with the GHO returning at 1:45 and hitting Harriet this time!! Both Harriet and M15 were very vocal, but they are okay. Both can be seen on the pond cam in the snag right now.

Read in the write-up to an owl attack video from last night that Harriet gave chase to the GHO after she was hit!! Harriet and M15 are sleeping on the nest tree tonight.

Harriet and M15 had a peaceful night on the nest tree. Both have already left this morning. Below is a video of the owl attack on Harriet and M15 in the early morning hours of October 10th. The 1st few minutes show the attacks and slo-mo. At the 5:30 mark of the video, Harriet flies out of the tree fast and furious to give chase to the GHO, 8:02 her return after the chase, 8:27 pond cam perspective begins and shows the GHO when it 1st leaves the snag to begin the attacks, 12:00 GHO can be seen flying upward, 12:38 Harriet flies out to give chase (although GHO is not seen), Remainder shows cam 2 perspective of events followed by bonding and mating after the worrisome night is done. :flirty:
