:1val: Ma did not spend the night. Ma arrived to the nest at 1020 this morning alerting and watching beyond the nest to the right. She still has the same beak debris she's been sporting the last couple of days. She settles in the bowl at 1024. Ma stood at 1048 and flew out the rear a minute later. Pa to the nest at 1106 and begins moving dead grass out of the bowl and aerates, then he adjusts the rear rail. He stood for awhile and seems to be keeping an eye out for something beyond the nest. He flew out the rear at 1250. Ma to the nest at 1330 with Pa arriving to the left branch seconds later, then down to the bowl. He starts moving sticks to the rails. Ma aerates the bowl, then Pa steps in. Ma eases her way into the bowl and Pa decides to do more rail work on the rear. Then he stood awhile before flying out at 1409. Ma watched to see where he went. He returned at 1416 with a stick that he placed to the left rail, rearranges rear rail, then stands with his tail draped over Ma's back for awhile. Ma didn't seem to mind. He stepped toward the left rail and stood before flying out at 1428 for the day. Ma stood at 1535 and back down a minute later. At 1716, Ma stood, then backed up to the front rail for a PS. At 1718, she settles back in the bowl for the remainder of the evening. She has slept sometimes with her head tucked and sometimes in the face plant position. She is asleep with her head tucked as I leave at 2350.

:1val: Ma spent the night on the nest. At 0703, she is talking. Ma continues to talk softly at 0715. Pa arrives to the nest at 0716. He starts moving debris out of the bowl with Ma in it. She stood within the same minute and flew out at 0717 for the day with Pa watching. He begins work on the bowl moving a long, white, feather out of it to the nest floor near the left rails. He stood awhile, then back to the bowl to aerate and move debris out. Next to the rear rails to adjust, then stood awhile. He brought a stick from the right nest floor and dropped it into the bowl, then placed it to the left rim of the bowl, then more aeration. He stood awhile, then flew up to the left branch at 0730 and out seconds later. Pa returned to the nest at 0745 with a stick to place to the right rails, then a little bowl work, but mainly he stood in the bowl. At 1052, he walked to the rear rails and flew out seconds later for the day. There were no further visits to the nest for the remainder of the day. The nest remains empty as I leave at 0115.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. As far as I know, the 1st eagle visit was this evening when Pa arrived to the left branch at 1847. He turned around on the branch and flew at 1849. He arrived to the nest at 1944 and stood in the bowl a bit. He turned and climbed out of it at 1947, stood a bit and then flew out for the night at 1948. The nest remains empty as I leave at 2350.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. She arrived to the nest today at 1435. Fresh prey debris is at the base of her beak on each side again. She stood in the bowl. At 1540, she finally settled into the bowl and did some aeration. She stood at 1824 and then settled in the bowl once again at 1829. Pa arrived at 1915 to the left branch and down to the nest seconds later. He almost backed up onto Ma's head, then he moved a stick next to the right rails up onto them, then moved a pine cone closer to the rails. Next he backs up and steps on Ma's tail, then he walked around her and to the left rails to do a little work. Ma brought fluff closer to her chest as he worked. Pa stepped up onto the rails and almost fell off after losing his balance on one of the large sticks that moved with his weight, then more adjustments to the misbehaving stick. :teehee: He flew out for the night at 1920. Ma has remained in the bowl the rest of the evening and is sleeping with her head tucked as I leave at 0110.

:1val: Ma spent the night. It's raining today. Pa arrived at 0717 with a stick for the front rail while Ma adjusted a rear rail stick somewhat clumsily as she tried to keep her balance on the one leg. Pa to the bowl to work. Next to the left rails to work, then back to the bowl to move a pine cone out and aerate. Ma has been standing and watching him work with a couple of soft chirps. Pa made a small adjustment to the front rail, then he heads toward the right rails to stand. Next to the left nest to stand. He flew at 0730 up to a branch at the rear of the nest. Ma watched him, then hopped to the rear of the nest and flew out within the same minute. He flew out 3 minutes later. (TBC)

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. She arrived at 1106 and to the bowl and settles a couple minutes later. Ma finally stood at 1441 and settled in the bowl once again at 1519. Ma stood at 1649, looked around and eased back down in the bowl at 1655. She stood again at 1914 and looked around. She settled back down in the bowl facing the left rail 4 minutes later. She stood again at 1936. Backed up to the rear rails and then back to near the bowl to stand. It's windy and raining now. Ma back to the bowl to stand at 2210. It continues to rain. She continues to stand in the rain as I leave at 2350.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night on the nest. Pa to the nest at 7:25 this morning with a stick that he placed on the floor of the nest near the right rails, then he went to the left rails for some adjustments. He went to the left branch at 7:29 and flew seconds later. Pa returned to the nest at 9:22. He moved a stick on the floor, then rail work, stood a bit. At 9:32, he flew. Ma arrived at 4:50 this afternoon and Pa seconds later. He immediately started moving sticks on the floor of the nest, then stood in the bowl and worked on the rim of it. Ma stood. At 4:58, Pa flew up to a rear branch in view and out a minute later. He returned with a stick at 5:02 and placed it to the right rail, then stood in the bowl a bit before flying out the rear at 5:07. Ma flew at 5:20. Pa arrived to the nest abruptly at 11:56 tonight and sharply swung his body around, then looks around and softly alerts. At 11:57 on the nest cam you hear a crash landing and the nest and tree shake, but you don't see who landed and where. On the approach cam this same landing incident happens approximately midnight or so as the times on the 2 cams are not in sync. You can see an eagle attempt to fly in, but misses and crash lands below the nest causing a branch to jostle hard and then they are out of sight. Don't know if this is the intruder or if it is Ma who after the crash landing may drop down and fly out unseen and then circle back to the nest. But, Ma arrived at 11:58 to the nest and Pa flew up to a branch out of sight and does a soft alert. Ma stands for awhile, and eventually she starts with a low, croak-sounding alert, then soft alerts with Pa responding. Found Pa on the approach cam and he is up high on the left branch. Apparently, from wherever they were roosting previous, they saw an intruder near the nest tree and came to the nest in a hurry. Ma is not taking her eyes off of whatever it is she sees away from the nest to the right. After awhile they seem to relax and are going to spend the night. At 12:42 am, Pa eased down the left branch and onto the nest. He aerated the bowl as Ma watched. He flew up to the left, rear, branch at 12:48. Eventually Ma preened a little, then tucked her head at 12:59 to sleep. Pa remains perched on the rear branch and tucked his head at 1:06. They remain asleep with their heads tucked as I leave at 1:32 am.

:1val: Ma spent the night on the nest and Pa spent the night on the rear branch. At 6:29 this morning, Ma is standing on the nest and Pa remains on the rear, left, branch. He is preening. At 7:06, Ma moved a pine cone off the bowl and Pa flew down to the nest and headed to the bowl to aerate and move debris out of it. At 7:07, Ma began backing up to the left rails as Pa continued his work in the bowl. He moved a pine cone out of it, but it rolls back to the rim. They stand a bit, then Pa moves a stick to the rails. Pa walks toward the left rails where Ma is standing and they are too close now and he attempts 3 times to snip on her, but she's able to avoid it! :teehee: He heads back to the bowl to work. Then they just stand. Pa went to the left branch at 7:17 and soon alerts. Ma looked to see what the upset is about. He flew at 7:19 and Ma watched to see where he went. Ma to the left branch at 7:22 and flew seconds later for the day. Pa arrives at 10:04 with a stick and eventually settles on placing it to the left rails after trying out other places. He stood on the nest a bit and flew out the rear at 10:10 am for the day. The nest remains empty as I leave at 01:13 am.
