I won't be able to watch either...I can understand if one parent has been injured in a dispute and is not able to return to the nest...but there is another parent somewhere!!! So where is he or she??????? Let's just hope one or both parents can get their acts together, regroup, and return to taking care of these babies..

You know the worst part about not watching is all the other nests are there on that page
but I know I won't be able to when I got that pic I thought ok now its ok, but not a picture yet of them feeding. Over at def forum there are pics of to adult falcons on the outside and it looks like they are eating

I just checked, and there's a parent with the chicks now.

Thanks, Kitten - I was just going to post the same picture.

The parent just left: I hope it's a quick trip to get some food for the chicks. I've got my fingers crossed!

I was just thinking: Is this a new falcon pair that never had chicks before? That would explain a lot of what's been going on.

I found this at CMNH from Nora
http://www.falconcam-cmnh.org/e107_plug ... post_51379
AEB: Sad news!

Yesterday Bea lost her territory and her mate to a persistent intruding female.
The last cam image of Bea was at 12:18.
At 14:25 Abe hands over a prey to the female. Within hours Abe accepted
this female as his new Queen.

And the situation since yesterday is like a déja vu of De Mortel in 2007.
On the cams we can see three chicks in the nest, Abe arrives and tries to feed
them or keep them warm and the new female enters the nest, takes the food and Abe leaves.

I was at the nestsite this morning, the new female is always perched on the
other stack where she can see the nest. In between the 'visits' to the nest
both peregrines circel in the sky, vocalising, close together.

The new female is the spitting image of Bea. A couple of us on the Dutch
forum compaired cam images of Bea and the new female. They could be twins.
We haven't been able yet to read the ID band of the new female.

Sorry, I can't post pics or photo's yet.

When I read that we had a falcon on the outside box eating, I just knew we had a repeat of 2007.
I will read the info, but I can't watch...Thanks Kitten for bringing the post over.

Yes this is going to be hard. I won't be able to watch it either it would be nice if things could work out different like De Mortel but not the lose

oh my goodness, I didn't know this was going on here. I already avoid the Netherlands page, because I can't bear to see the Eemsmond Falcons sitting on those eggs for months. You don't think they will hatch this year do you?

And now these poor little babies with no mother. :-(

Hey kittenface. Isn't Eesmond the nest where the eggs haven't hatched for a couple of years? And the little falcons just sit on them forever waiting??
