I just checked the cam and caught these pictures from Amsterdam AEB.

I don't know if this is the male or female.

The bird was sitting on the ledge, when I saw it enter the nest box and got this pic:

Then, it went back on the ledge:

I don't know the status of the eyasses.

I'm sorry...

I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings.. If I see activity, should I try and capture a picture, or should I skip for now?

I just looked at the site since I'm on the West Coast and finally light.

That is a good idea Carly. Why have 2 nests to fail. I think most believe don't interfere, but not me.

There might be a new pair/falcon in Eemsmond this year, according to Jan van Dijk from the Werkgroep Slechtvalken Nederland. It's not sure at this moment.

There will be no chance to resque the Amsterdam chicks, it's not allowed to disturb Peregrine Falcons in Holland in anyway.

Maybe there will be a second nest with the new female.

Thanks for the information about the Eemsmond nest. Well, we might have chicks after all then.
Yeah, I figured it might be illegal to disturb a nest, but.....

I guess everyone has different laws. Here they would take chicks and foster them to another nest.
so I will not watch. Sorry.

I can understand it's difficult for you to understand, with diffents laws.

The situation with the chick in De Mortel 2007 made me sad for several days.
I don't want that again, and are looking now with another view.

I'll keep you posted.

4/20/10 - 0630 AM Local Time. AEB - There is an adult in the box, brooding the eyasses. The adult is not on all of the eyasses.

I have seen no feeding, but was away from the computer for approximately 15 minutes.

0713 LT - AEB. (LT = Local time)

I believe male was on the eyeases. At this point, I think they are all still alive.

Female shows up on ledge, bows. Male up, departs nest. Female comes in and looks over eyasses for probably 30-40 seconds.

Her coloring is a little brownish on her back.

Female departs.

Question - when new female comes in, if male provides food for female, is there a reason male won't feed eyasses after she has eaten? Will the female attack him?

I think it was mentioned that this looks like a juvie - her coloring appears to be on the brown side. She obviously is not attacking the eyasses, but has there been a documented case where a juvie female took over territory and then was able to care for the young? I did read about S2, but wasn't she an adult at the time?

Thank you.

0750AM LT - I believe female arrives back on ledge. and goes into look at eyasses, then turn around goes back on ledge.

May also have been male. Very hard to tell with the 10 second refersh cams.

She's now perched on the ledge. She departs ledge.

Now I'm not sure if it was Male who came in, quickly looked down at eyasses and then female arrived and drove him off.
