I'm sure they will come up with the best scenario for both Red and the babies survival. Thankfully the U.S. is good at stuff like this so I trust it will all work out. Hopefully she can hang in until they get the necessary permissions and people in place to execute their plan.

I agree! I'm confident that those who are working on the plan will do everything they can to ensure that Red Girl and her chicks survive. I'm sure we'll all hear more as the plan is finalized and gets underway.

I agree 100%!!! I'm sure Kim will let us know of the plans when they have been finalized...until then, we can do our part by watching the cam and documenting what we see.

Unfortunately we won't be able to do anything this weekend since we won't have access to the box. A chick can survive at least 24 hrs I think without eating once it hatches. Hopefully with it being as warm as it's going to be, Red Girl will take the time to do some hunting this weekend.

Sorry, I know it's going to be a long weekend for everyone watching!

Thanks for all the support from everyone!!!

p.s. Kate from Pittsburgh hooked me up with Mark Nash who has given us some very helpful information! Like I said, we'll get these chicks raised one way or another!

Yes, I think Red Girl is out getting a big breakfast right now. It's about 60 degrees here now, and it's going up to 88 degrees today and tomorrow. Cold temperatures will definitely not be a problem this weekend!

I'll be in and out all day, but I can keep the recorder on the cam and at least record the comings and goings!!! I just zoomed in on the eggs, and at least with the view we have, it doesn't look like any pips...

I hope she's out getting a huge breakfast...hope she brings the leftovers back and stashes near the box...

Kim, we're all behind ya and you've now been elevated to Auntie Kim!!!

It's 8:03 and she's back. I will be here and there today. Kim, my heart goes out to you for all your doing. I'm sure the BEST will be done. Interesting how other nests have handled the same problems. Nice to have a network in place.

Red seems somewhat restless and very alert. Just now she performed an extended egg-shuffle. Settling down now.

Has anyone been able to catch a glimpse of her crop? I'm hoping she was able to catch some breakfast while she was out before.

She's just too fast! In a split second she's getting up off the eggs and then poof....she's gone!

Sorry, just caught up here last night. Kim, it sounds like you have the best people possible to give you help. Sorry you have had to deal with another tough year, but fortunately there are multiple ways to keep these chicks alive and well. If supplementing food is an option, Tri-State rehab might be a good source. They have to keep stocks of everything. It will be nice and warm this weekend so she can do some hunting the next few days before they hatch. There is also a great fostering options, which Mark has done successfully. I'm crossing my fingers for you, and let me know if you need any help.
