there was just another stand-off. I came in and Polly was in . Went to archives and saw parent left at 12:22
then in came Polly
Adult tried 3 times to come in around and get to eggs but Polly was in way.
Finally _Polly left and went out to perch at 12:35pm

Adult was able to get in at 12:20pm

Polly did not incubate by any means. She sniffed the eggs a bit and hopefully her body heat in there kept them warm.

The adults are doing what they can only do while she is in there. they do not want a big fight , the eggs would surely be destroyed. As long as the eggs do not get below a certain temperature , they will be O.K. but they may take longer to hatch.

what is hatch date again.

they kept showing closeup of eggs. I do not know if they wre looking for pip or not. will go an look at calendar. They look O.K.

yes, too early. I think these have a few days to go yet. 2nd last egg was laid March29,so you usually count from there.

they were just really zooming in on them. Maybe jsut to see that Polly did not harm them.

I don't think today's episode was harmful as the eggs were left for less than 15 minutes.

I zoomed on the eggs because there was a strange yellow thing beside, I was trying to figure out what it was... might be a piece of bone.

33 days after egg #3 is May 1st, but like you mentioned bev. I think it might be delayed or we might not have a hatch at all..... so far all the experts have told me we can't know if they will be ok.

Polly there again but the adult is on eggs. Because archives do not show everything, but when I went back, she seems to have been lying at entrance of box while adult was incubating.
I would assume it is pretty tight there. Hopefully she does not stop other adult from coming in.

Polly came to the box but Spirit got her out. They were talking face to face for a few minutes, then Polly retreated and stayed for a while perched on the side (like we can see on bev's photos) while Spirit was on the eggs. Here's a photo of the discussion that took place

thanks Wizzz. The archives did not show that and I came in with Polly standing facing mom and mom laying on eggs.
I knew it could just not be that peaceful. Glad Spirit spited her away

Oh my, what is going to happen when the chicks arrive???

I noticed eggs uncovered just for a bit this morning, in archives, with adult in corner. But probably giving them some air, and checking .
I can only try and keep positive thoughts going round with all that is happening in our peregrine world this year.
