As I told you last year ,the nest box is in a very secure area. So we cannot get close. We have to park way up on highway.(we pull off and walk down the hill usually, but it was very windy and cold today.
for the longest time all we saw wee crows and ravens
(2 X,s in sky is where the falcons were fighting; other X on building is where the other falcon landed , nest box is on cylinder shaped tower .

these were best shots we could get of one of the falcons , when we drove north. This is directly north of nest box and outside compound and across road. Falcons can see the nestbox tower from here.

sorry, best we could do today.

bev, you are so dedicated to make that trip out to the Genesee plant and observe for several hours in the cold and wind! Thanks for that report, and hopefully it was just a "friendly" warning to that third bird that this nest is taken. Of course, it will be tense when the transmitter male returns. :?

Thanks Susan.

Once things settle down then. I will take a long break. but I had a feeling something was up that they were not spending much time at box.

Oh, I must have forgot to post where transmitter male is.
As of april24, he flew west over the previous 3 days about 400km and is jsut west of Panama City.
Still along way away. I am worried about this also SGB.

Panama City, Florida? That's not good....as cute as this new male is...I feel so bad for T-man...traveling all this distance to find a male at his box. I sure hope you're right, Carly and that he finds a cutie on the way...OR, since you saw a 3rd falcon, Bev...maybe its a female without a mate and she hooks up with this current male or T-man...Somebody better go erect another box and soon!!!

I was thinking on Sunday that maybe the other falcon was the one from Weber building.

but I think what I should do is figure out when he is due home and then trap him and take him to Weber for Miss Edmonton.

I was thinking that the storm system maybe slowed him down. I know what will happen, no doubt.

I am going to keep a clsoe watch here if I can the next few days.
Where is our banded Miss???

Love the pictures here. Hope it all works out for all the falcons in the Edmonton area this year.

I was just sitting here watching this nest, thinking, I never see anybody here, and all of a sudden, a falcon. Very exciting.

I am glad you caught that ljames. I was getting worried.

NIce captures.
they seem to appear out of no where.
Now I have not seen the other one for a few days. they are messing with me.

No falcon whisperer here. For every minute I catch a falcon, I spend 100 somewhere else with no results.
