I can't believe she's still just standing there away from the eggs.

I took some pictures, but I'm having problems uploading them. The "Upload" button on PhotoBucket disappeared on me, and I'm trying to use ImageShack for the first time but it's not going well. I think I'm going to have to find another image application.

Well, she's sitting on the eggs now. I probably said this before on here somewhere, but her mom was two years old in Harrisburg when she first bred, and all four eggs hatched. However, our original Dad was on the scene then, too.

I just saw two falcons, one larger than the other. It looked to me like the female was chasing the male. Unfortunately they flew out of view.

KIM, WE HAVE TO GET YOU SOMETHING TO FLY AROUND UP THERE WITH THEM TO KEEP AN EYE ON THEM. SHE PROBABLY SCARED THE MALE BECAUSE SHE'S SO BIG AND SHE WAS CHASING HIM TELLING HIM TO GET BACK HERE AND HELP RAISE THESE KIDS! WELL, THAT'S IF THEY WOULD HATCH

She's now on a ledge on the building. I can't tell if she has a bird or if there's a spot on the building. Greg, can you tell?

Thanks for the post, Kim. Surely there must be a male that would enjoy Red's company, as she's such a beauty! I have every possible thing on the human body crossed for all of this.

I just watched her going after a Turkey Vulture!!! Not sure if she was trying to catch him or just scare him away. Our old girl took out a Turkey Vulture last year. Here's a link to her trying to get a Great Blue Heron!

She was fearless, just like Red Girl seems to be!

Catching up again (I "exceeded my bandwidth" last month so have to cut back on my favorite addiction!)

Lots of food for thought in the past few days. I think it's getting close to the critical time for those eggs to hatch. It would be a shame for Red Girl to lose her chance at mothering her babies, but also a shame for us to lose all 4 if she doesn't start paying more attention to the eggs. It's probably more important in the long run for her to attract a new mate and establish a solid bond this year, but why couldn't 2 eggs be removed from the nest for fostering elsewhere, leaving her with 2 to mother if they hatch? That way we'd have a chance at salvaging some of this year's clutch either way.

I'd like to have seen that GBH chase, Kim!
