I remember when Red used to chase her dad off the ledge when she was hungry!!

Kim, your pictures of the former female with the Great Blue Heron were interesting! No fear in her for sure. One of the reasons I'm so fascinated by Peregrines is their fierce nature, but also the tender caring for their young. They are awesome birds. Thanks for sharing those pictures.

Hopefully finding food, but we know she is tough ,so she will .

Red Girl just flew to the ledge. Another falcon, male I’m sure, flew in front of her, out of sight around the building, then back again higher, doing a few dives in front of her. Sunny, breezy, great day for soaring, which is what I bet they have been doing.

Ok so I'm going to sound stupid but what of the eggs? I understand if they don't hatch but do they stand a chance yet?

I don't have a lot of hope for these eggs since today is day 35 or 36 and we don't even see any pips. :(

On April 27th, there was a period of about an hour where no one was on the eggs. It was a cool day from what I remember.

This is great news! Looks like our girl may have found a new mate. I appreciate these firsthand reports from those with a view of the action.

Thank you Kim I am sorry to hear that but if she has found a new mate that is good news and at least there was no attachment as far as babies went I know there is on the eggs,
well I hope you understand what I mean, thank you for the quick response

Reenie, according to Kate St. John, falcons recognize their mate, their parents, & their nestmates, so if it was a nestmate I guess Red would recognize it; however, her nestmates were all girls, so it wouldn't be a nestmate. When was the last year we had a male survive (that we know of), was it 2007?

I'm so thrilled for Red Girl. :cheer I was so hoping that she could find a mate And the eggs would hatch, but I'm not so sure about the eggs anymore. Thanks for the reports from the ground.
