I watched ghem everyday. The little one had so much spunk that I thought it would survive, but yesterday the female brought in prey and it got stuck in it and could not get up. I could not look after that, but I knew . Hope this one makes it
I will say , that this is not Willow.
So tough

well looking with crop. does no t get many bites but enough. I guess now with one , a few bites each feed will be snough an dit will start ot grab from adult
they have moved ot back out of sun

This nest is still a disaster..this can't be Willow.

Who knows what happened. This , just is not Willow.

We have been so spoiled over the years.
Avian flu has taken a lot of our matures. We have lost at least 30 % in Alberta. So we have some coming in, with not same experience or maturity. Maybe they could not nest because of our successful pairs, and now with an opening , they are having first nesting experience. All we can hope , is it gets better.

Someone mentioned bottom part of females jaw looks broken, but I can’t see it. So thought worth mentioning

I agree, Bev...this is not Willow...thankful this one seems to be doing OK...but, the prey remains just keep building up..

This morning’s feed. Mom brought in prey. Chick comes round for his breakfast. Mom gives him several bites but then starts eating it herself. Chick is waiting for more and sometimes picks the prey out of mom’s mouth. And then he starts self feeding while mom feeds herself….?

I watched a. Feed after 5pm and youngster was stuffed. I believe it was male that fed , The female has no bands right. Iam wondering if she has something wrong with lower beak which prevents her to feed properly, or properly rip food.

Will look on my big screen and try and do video
But Yiungster did get some good feeds.

Banding is scheduled for Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. I cannot attend because of my volunteer work at bird rehab. We do not test for avian flu, so I have no idea if I have been exposed. We have had many deaths. I hope someone will take pictures that I can share.
