Gingersnap, I sent an e-mail. Since its the weekend, and they already worked today putting up the pen, we may not see a change until Monday. You should see the parents dropping food in though. I haven't yet today. :?: :?:

The parents were already in to feed them and we could not see a thing :!:
I hope someone will be manning the camera over the weekend.

Yes there was another food drop and I see that Ethel is going to
be labeled the hog of the family. She grabs whatever she can get
her teeth on :!: :wildman:

Here's a few more dinner shots. It looks like Arnie has ownership on something in the corner. He hasn't moved in a while. He clearly has more feathers than the girls.

Okay...I think :?: this is the Manchester Bridge. I'm not sure which one of the buildings it is that the nest is on, but this may give you an idea of where the building is in relation to the grassy area of the bridge where he was shooed off to. I was trying to figure out how many feet/yards Arnie Imagewas from the ledge, but couldn't find that info... Do I have the right bridge?? I hope so...

Barb, thanks for the dinner pictures--good to know they ate tonight.

Denise, thanks for posting the picture of the bridge. I had gone so far as to Google the Manchester bridge, but I didn't find anything that would show the relationship of the bridge to the building. Good job!

Oh, my--good thing he landed on the bridge & not in the water! :omg

Well Arnie is the first one in bed tonight  Must be sooooo
tired from all that pacing around the cage :!: Hope he gets a
good sleep and doesn't drive the girls crazy, and maybe tomorrow
he won't be so hyper. Nite nite little man. :)

Gingersnap, here is a picture of the street where he fell (there are traffic lights at the intersection). He was in the corner next to where it goes round under the Wachovia sign. It was a long way down.

The tree in the foreground is in front of the building across the street where the bystander moved him.

OH MY WORD....what a "fall"...I don't think that counts as the first fledge...but he must have handled it very well to have landed without injury...that little overachiever...and daredevil!!! Ya know, Apollo (Columbus) didn't mean to fledge...he was just messing around, being careless too close to the edge... :(

Thanks for the food pics..and the great pics of the buildings and area, Denise, obxbarb and knorrie...

The bridge is right there, but I'm guessing he fell around where the white car is in my pic. Its a very skinny sidewalk underneath the building, so there's really nowhere but the street to go. The bridge is not all that busy in mid day. Across the bridge is a bad area...not many offices. The Lee Bridge, where the pair have attempted to nest, is only two blocks down.
The intersection was pretty busy at rush hour when I was there Thursday. More traffic comes from the road in front because it is a primary downtown exit off the freeway. That is the road that is right underneath the nest box.

I just missed Sunday breakfast -- then there's Arnold flappercizing...not a panic attack as when he fell off the building flying!!

It looks like William and Mary's whole website is down, but the DGIF site has the cam up.

WOW! What a thriller here . . . That little boy has been very lucky to survive that fall and landing. Heartwarming to read that there still are people who care and are willing to help and rescue a little helpless bird (or animal).
Although it does look a bit strange I am glad they are confined now to that pen until they are really ready to fledge. For next year they should put it up right away, without the top bars of course. It would save us a lot of worries

They did move the cam focus down a bit, so we can now see them eating. Guess Arnie isn't hungry now...
