Yesterday, around 6:30 PM - the 3 young Eagle Owls from the Dutch Beleef de Lente webcam walking, jumping about, practicing flight, practicing prey catching:

By now they are 6 weeks old and acc. to the logbook already weigh 1.4 - 1.7 kilograms! Read the English translations of the logbook here:

I think we have a hatch at the Tawny owl nest.
She is talking different and you can hear the baby(ies) (!)

I noticed a lot of prey in the nest this am...

Update 5/7 from Tawny owl website...

Klaara's first little owl chick was hatched in the evening of May 7. The little ones haven't been seen yet, but
sounds and behaviour tell what has happened. Congratulations!

Male owl Klaus is seen more often at the opening to the nest now, the family, with the new members, need food...

We might have a 3rd hatch tomorrow Tine for Klaara nest...

The Germany nest had babies in 2008 (3?) and then didn't nest in 2009 at this
site or didn't have eggs.

This evening had a quick peek
Still 3 :grin:

The bird singing close by in the evening/night is a Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos), I think
Nice singing bird with the peeps from Klaara and kids !

Had a peek to and thougth food has to be cought quick. Nothing stored. :roll:

Klaara maybe brought some but Klaus came not long after that .
So hard work for this night to bring more for those 4.
